Ordering supplies for my first go at using a mod and building my own coils . So I've got 4x 18350 AW IMR , 2x 18650 Sony 2100mah 30A , 1 x Soshine SC H2 universal LCD battery charger, 1 digital Multimeter , 1 sheet 400 Mesh , 1 sheet 200 Mesh and 4m 28g Kanthal. I'll probably go to Bunnings tomorrow and pick up a set of small screwdrivers . Is there anything else I should be looking at getting ? Any advice gratefully received.

banger if your really keen go to your local Jaycar they have sets of Jewelers screwdrivers from JETech that have super strong shafts they are about $10. The other thing you may also be interested in are a fine set of needle nose pliers, a set of side cutters or nail clippers a pair of tweezers and a butane torch so you can oxidize your mesh - don't forget to pick up some gas for it as well. I also have a small set of metric drill bits that I use to wrap coils with I got mine from the $2 shop comse I'm never gonna use them to drill anything with - cheap is good . That's about all I have in my little tool kit here and besides different comges of wire / wick that's about all you need.

 

Thanks for the info mate , I have a butane torch , side cutters , tweezers . I'll head out to Jaycar tomorrow and pick up the screwdrivers and also a small pair of needle nose pliers. I'll also have a look for a cheap set of drill bits . Thanks .

 

Your welcome! I know when I first started it was like I'd start making a coil and then stop - get up and go and look for something that I needed. If you have everything at hand it makes life so much easier

wow man. U seem all set up already. I wouldnt suggest 28g yet for mesh on genesis. U need 4-5 wraps to make 1 ohm which is pretty tight for such a thick wire in a small space. Get 30g and you only need 2-3 wraps to achieve 1ohm. However, you will need 28g for microcoil cotton build in a kayfun.
