My Latest Boxmod, 5V I built for my wife

  2. +1 .. may I add that the connectors have a rubber insulator separating the plus and minus parts of the connector. Some say to take them apart before soldering so as not to melt the rubber insulator. I find them hard to put back together. I use an old atty screwed in as a heatsink during soldering.

    Regarding salvaging from old batteries .. yes you can. I had a few old disposables with 510 threads, they worked fine in new mods.

    I don't follow. Why would you put the switch on the GND? Go from batt positive to the switch to Vin.

    And those MadVape regs are rather pathetic. At around 2A they usually go into thermal shut down. Did you heat sink it? When COV was selling the Stompboxes they tried to call it a safety feature in their warning.

    And why use such a clumsy power robbing thing as a 'mosfet' instead of just using a real mosfet? That thing will in fact cut your output and run times.
