Kind of Newbie, next step up.

I haven't read all of the thread but if it hasn't already been mentioned this is very important. Make sure you have a backup even if its just a spare tank. I would suggest a full kit but at least if you break a tank and you have a spare then you can get yourself going again.

Replacement coils is a hard one to answer as different juices tend to gunk up coils at different rates. Some people only get a couple of days out of a coil where others will get a week out of them. The other thing with pre made coils is you will some times get duds so dont let your self get low on stock. I would suggest to always try and keep a pack spare at all time just to be safe.

As for liquid you will need to import the nicotine so you can ether buy premixed juice ie flavor and nic form over seas or you can by doublers ( made to mix your nic at double strength) here and the add your own nic. You can also buy flavor concentrates here and make up you own juices but agin you will need to add the nic.
When I started I found the easiest way was to buy doublers and the buy the nic at a strength that was easy to mix. For example if you are vaping at 12mg then buy 24 mg nic and it is a straight half and half mix to get you 12mg.
Also by buying local doublers you can try different flavors by mixing only a small amount like 10ml and if you find the flavor is not to your liking then you are not wasting as much nic

Wow, thank you so much for the heads up Midlife. It has been on my mind the last two days that I might be best to buy a whole kit as a starter then use it as the backup kit, then also purchase the other things that have been suggested like the evic mod and the atlantis tank as his main go to. This way he has a decent setup he can play around with, have a back up and plenty of time to get used to it all before he wants to go searching for the next best thing

I don't want to complicate it for you but the cheapest way using ejuice is a DIY or you can purchase pre mix juice with the nic strength you desire.
Nic strength to use is going to vary depending how much performance you are getting.
The more vapor you are getting means you are also going through juice quicker meaning you also are getting more nic per puff.
I suggest starting around 12mg juice or lower when using a good performance combo and higher with a lower performance combo.
I also suggest a 50/50 PG/VG to start with [PG and VG are what gives you the vapor with PG giving less vapor but holds flavor better and gives a higher throat hit when using nic. VG is smoother on the throat and gives a lot more vapor than PG]
PG and VG are the cheapest by far out of an ejuice mix where flavorings and nic are more expensive.
Everyone is different how they prefer to get their juice but here is how i do it.
Nic i always when in stock get it from NZ
Unflavoured Nicotine Base DIY Supplies The Vape Shop NZ and always in PG becomse it keeps longer.
To dilute the 50mg nic i dilute with PG and VG to a lower strength meaning i would use a small portion of the 50mg nic and mix with PG and VG to make a nic strength to which would suit either a doubler flavor or a tripler flavor or a concentrate where all of these three can be purchased here.
flavor is subjective and what one person likes does not mean another will and is the hardest part of vaping finding what flavor you like.
I suggest at least one tobacco flavor and the one i use is a concentrate from extracted tobacco.
USA-Mix of this
Tobacco i-Mix Concentrate mixing at around 10 - 15% of the final mix
PG and VG i grab from vapeking becomse it is cheap with larger bottles.
Propylene Glycol (PG)
Vegetable Glycerin (VG)

 

Ratsacker, I'm getting up there now on most of the lingo. I've learnt so much. I totally appreciate the advice about the ejuice and that will all be my next thing to research.
My current thinking on the vape set up is, get a starter kit - so he can start on this and then use it as an all day take to work or back up, the contenders being:

VK Deluxe Starter Kit , 2 x 1300mah battery, 2 x Aspire ET-S Pyrex Clearomizers with 2.5 ml capacity, on the site, the tank did not have the best reviews on the tank provided with it. He is a fan of carbon fibre, that is why I was thinking on this one.

Any thoughts are welcome?

Then for Christmas as that is only 2 weeks away, I thought I'd like to upgrade him to the E vic Mini VTC with the mini comtilis head, then the atlantis Aspire Atlantis Sub-Ohm Clearomizer Tank | VapeKing that way he can work his way there. That way he has his all day on the go or back up set up (ego one or Aspire set) and something a bit nicer How does this sound, or is it overkill?

Yes if you are buying flavoured doublers they normally come in a bottle "double" the size of the liquid you ordered so a 15mil double would come in a 30 mil bottle and you'd add the 36mg nicotine giving you 18mg. Half the liquid being the flavour and Half being 36mg nicotine base.

As you mentioned time is an issue i noticed the The Vape Shop NZ has nicotine in store atm they take 2/3 days to get here in WA Unflavoured Nicotine Base DIY Supplies The Vape Shop NZ Note its only in 50mg strength so you'd need to work out measurements. You'll also need VG and PG to make up the difference for the doubler if you get the 50mg. Pick it up from anycomssie vape store eg, Flavourless PG/VG | VapourEyes

Thank you for taking the time to respond to me @Dhufish . I have now tracked down my goodies for my partners bday this weekend with express post. It's okay if the nic doesn't arrive until after the weekend as he can still play with the flavours and the vape set up until they do. I am still a little overwhelmed about all the mixing of liquids and nic levels etc, so I have gone with 36mg nic and bought him some doubler flavours. This way he can simply add the nic to the doubler to obtain the 18mg hit he is after. I also purchased some PG and Vg incase he needs to dilute the mixture down. So I feel that's a good start for him and he can take it all from there and work out his own percentages of nic per 100ml and mixes in the future.

I've gone with and Ego Xl 2200mah battery starter kit for him and this will prob end up being used as his backup setup. But he will practice on it until I then get him a better set up for Christmas. I will let you know how he goes So onto the next...... Box mods and possibly the Atlantis tank.

Hey all, quick question. We couldn't wait to open my partner's present on his birthday tomorrow, so we opened it one day early!! You might recall I went with the Ego One XL and purchased from ancomssie company. We were a little surprised to find the wall charger was not ancomstralian compatible wall plug. I actually didn't see this mentioned by any othercomssie buyers of this product so just assumed it would be? Did anyone else come across this problem?

 

Yeah that's the norm if they buy from a wholesaler O/S. Just use the cable.

 

Plug into a PC or another USB wall plug check to make sure the wall plug is 1 amp
