    felating the mod!!!! hahahahahahahha, awesome.

yeah, im totally gonna smooth it all out. im gonna take the time to do a cad rendering and take out all the stuff i don't want and then having it cast. the plastic version was to see how it all fit, what it looked like and how well it functioned. i always had a metal version on the brain. i really do appreciate all the constructive criticism for sure. also considering using a switching regulator as apposed to the linear. hopefully getting a metal prototype sometime in the next 2 weeks and then cad something up and have a metal mold made in the next month or so.

    thanks guys. love the feedback...

Well with a linear regulator you're looking at heat and battery consumption. I know a switching regulator may look a little bit scary to use in a mod as it is more pricey and some of the chip styles(packages) are harder to work with, but they can be gotten in the TO-220 style which most people are used to and they save a ton of battery life if you are using a lower voltage on a VV. Linears basically burn off an excess current as heat which is what makes your box get hot and that might be a problem with a metal case because of the fact it won't dissipate as quickly.

If you are only looking at the difference of a few dollars per unit and your profit margin accepts it, I would definitely go with a switching DC/DC regulator because it lasts longer and has less failure with higher efficiency. Your customers would appreciate it im sure.

    Devil.

It'll definitely be a bump in the ol' pocket!!!:D But it is a reasonable price for a vv feeder............

It is a good price for a vv feeder mod. Let us know when you dress her up :) I am really interested in seeing the final version. I love the size and think you could have fun giving it a ruff and tumble tank look. Get something like faux diamond plating (think truck beds liners) on one side ...just for the assault vehicle visual. I have small hands so am always interested in small compact mods.
