    Not quite true.

I have never used one and I was interested to see where it went. Mind you with all the power available on gt's bike, it would make an interesting mobile PV

    wha!

I was!.. I'm dreading that the 30 or so dollars I spent on the base and 5 spare heads will be a horrible vape.

(could have bought 4 or 5 more 306LRs with that money)

fitted a dead atty with a heater wrapped on mesh, wick replaced with mesh, no silica inside.

    conclusion, pita.

the reason I was doing these 'hacks' is that of my original 5 attys, 3 went high resistance, i stick these back in the blister pack for further experiments in case they where useful, but was waiting for some sort of cool thing to do with them. not seen anything really so figured i would have a go.

my final conclusion .. don't waste your time, bin them, time and effort has not turned up anything useful. I am happy to toss them away in future :)

time to buy a second and maybe third tube and a couple of atty packs, i do like these things.

    Nothing ventured, nothing gained ;)

And that's good enough for me to give these a go :)

What do you mean by "they went high resistant" ?

I've noticed my stardusts over time (not just battery charge), begin to require higher voltages to get the same level of throat hit. Do coils increase in ohms as they go through wear and tear, or has it more to do with the wick?

Hey Stoney maybe you should try some Comets before you get more eGo-C(rap) :p
At least they can be rebuilt successfully :D

More to do with the build up of crud on the coil, I reckon. The more crud the less heat & thus you need more watts to overcome the problem.

its not about rebuilding them, they are only a few bucks and you get a few weeks with one, it was more about answering the question, is it worth keeping them as they can be modded.

resisistance goes up to 50 ohms or so, what happens is the heater fails at one point and the crud on the wire becomes the conductor.

might try the comets later, i am not blinkered by self conceived notions after watching some morons give shit reviews and will base a decision on what something is like by trying it, instead of becoming an expert by proxy.

Not sure when I'll be back in here to check the forum.

My eGo-C atty experience has been shite so far.

Dry hits all over the place. Not one good vape all day.

    :-(

on standard volts that should be fine on the SR's i go to about 3.8 maximum.
when tank is down a little, occasional suck before fire.
draw hard if its running dry.
i have more trouble with them gurgling wet than dry, if that happens i may up the voltage a little, usually just draw gentle for a few puffs.

    They're LR.

Hardly any vapour comes out. Tight draw. I've tried dripping directly onto the pointy wick, and even onto the coil itself via the side gaps of the atty.

Still no success. I'll leave it for now overnight. See what its like in the morning.

i am surprised they sell LR versions of these. I have only recomended the SR's as I think even they could do with another 0.2 of an Ω .. particularly on a provari.
on ego twist i only go a little bit off the lowest setting on occasions.
they do not like strong flavoured juice at all, the wicks are tiny, i only use chinese stuff in them.
but used as I use them .. 3 weeks hassle free per atty.

I've changed the flavour over to Straight menthol ejuice, 2.4% nic, PG100%

I had this same problem with Stardusts months ago. And now I'm a Stardust addict. I've managed to get one really good vape with the menthol, and it tasted super clean, and throat hit was good. Don't know what I did right, but further trying hasn't had success.

I'll leave it overnight, see how it goes.
I'll get there. Eventually. I usually do.

I got mine today ... LR ... running on an eGo in regulated mode. After working out that a T-tank is not the right tank :)o) it is working fine. No dry hits on 80PG20VG mix. We'll see if it lasts 3 weeks ...
