It's little smaller but not much, than the ZMax V2 controller.

The Wattage value is easy to read.

Getting ready for the build.............

 

I coiled a length of 28 .comge Kanthal A1 wire and clipped my output on to various points to achieve the resistance in the test.

Testing at 7 watts:
1.6 ohm - 3.4v
1.7 ohm - 3.5v
2.0 ohm - 3.7v
2.5 ohm - 4.2v
3.1 ohm - 4.6v
3.5 ohm - 4.9v
5.1 ohm - 6.0v
6.4 ohm - 6.7v

Testing at 20 watts:
1.5 ohm - 5.6v
1.9 ohm - 6.3v
2.3 ohm - 6.9v
2.5 ohm - 7.0v
2.7 ohm - 7.3v
3.0 ohm - 7.8v
3.5 ohm - 8.3v - This is the highest resistance that doesn't warn: "Check Atomizer"
3.6 ohm - "Check Atomizer"

 

Good stuff ... but how big is an American quarter? Are rulers in short supply in the USA
I'm guessing the PCB is about 12mm wide and 25-30mm long.

 

I need to buy one of these. Do they have them listed on evolvs site?

Or maybe it's 20cents... can't remember without going to look in my yank coin collection.

 

Had the boyfriend check, it's about the same size around as $1 coin, bit bigger than a 10c coin teeeeny bit smaller than a $1 coin.

Nice! I'm playing around with the idea of getting one of these and hooking it up to a 1s 60C 6000mah lipo I use for my remote control cars

the display comes with the board?

 

Yes we ran out of rulers during the Revolutionary War. The Brits confiscated them.. LOL

I still have to mount the FIRE button and shorten the wiring before it is totally complete.
It has a USB jack under the UP/DOWN buttons.

 

@breaktru - that's really pretty! I tried to google for the data sheet and couldn't find it. Is there a link for it like for the DNA12? This is an awesome toy to experiment with!!!

The DNA20 has Mode Selections as follows:

* 5 clicks of the Fire button enters Locked Mode and 5 clicks to unlock.
With the module in Locked Mode:
* Holding the UP and Fire buttons simultaneously for several seconds and you access the Left Mode. Continue holding the buttons and you access Right Mode. This Flips the Screen 180 degrees.
* Holding the Down and Fire buttons simultaneously for several seconds accesses the Stealth Mode and Normal Mode. Stealth mode allows you to vape without the screen illuminated.

When idle, the board goes into Power saver mode after a few seconds where the screen dims to half bright and then a few seconds more extinguishes.

 

@breaktru - quick question:

Since I plan to use a lipo on this and if my mod is sealed (meaning lipo is connected semi permanently to DNA board), can I connect a lipo charger to the leads connected to the lipo and DNA without disconnecting it from the DNA?

where '|' are the charging leads

Will there be potential damage to the circuitry of the DNA? I plan to charge at least at 1.5 C so if it's a 3000mah sack, then will be charging at 4.5a so I can top off the battery in 40 minutes or so. Will be using high grade lipos that can handle the amps 500ma charger unit of evolv will take 6 hours to top off a flat battery :-(
