What's your parents' opinion on vaping?

My parents see it as another vice. Having said that, I'm proud to say my mom vapes and she'd rather be addicted to vaping (which i don't think she is) than be addicted to smoking cigarettes. My dads thinks it's addicting but he has no problem with it.

Negative, according to them everything is same. Smoking = vaping or I think they even have an worse opinion on vaping than smoking. I tried to make them realize the science behind it but couldn't. I don't vape in front of them anymore.

 

Ack, those clickbait posts on Facebook are annoying and even my mom falls victim to it. Anyway, I think it's great that you're DIY juicing for your vape juice. I think they will realise just how healthier it is more so now that you create your own juices. I think your mom is being just a mom, you know, worrying for you and your health. Most moms would want their kids to have zero vices.

My mom has been a smoker for 40 years and ironically, she has more of a problem with me vaping than she ever did when I was smoking real cigs. She rolls her eyes whenever I start up and always has something sarcastic to say as she watches me. I guess it's the advancement in technology that has her on the fence but I am trying to educate her enough to the point that she will want to try it out. So far, no luck. Good question!

 

Yeah, sounds familiar to me. I guess it's almost impossible to change the mind of someone who is over 40 years old and hasn't been trying new things for so long. Sometimes their ego gets in the way, too. "Look, I'm 45. You're 23. If you teach me, does it mean that my life's gone wrong?" mentality sucks.

 

Well I wish they were around to tell me what they thought about it, because they certainly would have had some strong opinions and probably would not have been afraid to share them. I might have been surprised though, you never know. My father was pretty health conscience but my mother did used to smoke so she might have approved. It is interesting to think about the differences in generations and how they see things.

 

Rather than smoking marijuana or even worse yet, cigarettes, my parents actually condone the use of vaping as it is a much healthier and safer alternative to those two. They don't mind if I vape in the house only if I vape from my room. They seem to be very laid back about it and I am happy about it too!

 

Well, my parents opinion on vaping it's the same as every other parent's, or at least I'd think so. They simply do not view vaping as something as serious as smoking, they believe it to be more of an "easy" thing than cigarettes. It actually is, but it's the last thing I would call a safe thing.

 

My parents think that the habit of vaping is worse the smoking. They conclude this because they don't know that vaping is much safer than real cigarettes. My father does smoke cigarettes and he does not believe in the fact that vaping devices are better than smoking. My parents have an 'old' mindset and they are not at all aware of the technological changes happening around the world. For me, vaping devices are boon and I will continue using it.

 

My parents are pretty much against anything that involves inhaling. They are really conservative in that regard, but they definitely prefer it over smoking. They are more accepting of it once I explained to the what it was.

 

You're lucky to have those parents. Even after I explained to them what it was, they are still a bit concerned about it. For the most part, they don't mind it too much, but they always tell me to just quit all of it.

 

My parents don't exactly approve of it, but they don't hate it either. I guess they stay pretty neutral because they've been smokers as well and would rather see me vape than to see me smoking.

 

My mom does not want me to smoke or vape. My mom told me that I am a cancer recipient. I am not suppose to use drugs that can cause cancer because I have a higher chance of catching cancer. Now, I understand the risks involved in using drugs. But, life is very unpleasant. Life is very beautiful but some people make the world ugly. As a result, I have to have something to cope with insults or mistreatment that I receive from other people. In modern times, there are too many insults being thrown around. There is a mean trend that is passed to people from television. Television does not teach moral values anymore. Stop watching television and watch youtube videos. My mom does not like my choices but I am 24 years old and I decide my life.

 

As I see, you've decided to capture a wide range of issues in your post. I agree with you on some of them. Yep, you have to be accountable for your life at the age of 24. It's even your own life. Before 18 it's kind of shared with parents unless you live outside their house and earn some money, too.

Speaking of TV, I don't watch it too. It's controlled by others. Fully controlled. YouTube is more liberal. It's great and fun in terms of self-education. Tons of valuable content.

 

My mother supports vaping as she wants my dad and brother to quit. On the other hand they are not willing to do it...

 

My parents both vape but it's only every now and again as to be honest, they're both in their 70's now and have been smoking for that long, they don't really want to give up more than anything else, even though they keep being told they should.

As for me vaping they're both in favour of it, but even if they weren't, at 38 years old I think I'm old enough to make my own decisions now, haha!

 

My parents are Ex-smokers and as such they absolutely detest me smoking. However, they seem to consider vaping a much healthier habit and a much more socially acceptable one because of the lack of tobacco fumes. They actually bought me a cheap disposable vape for christmas a few years ago, but they would never in a million years buy me any form of tobacco. They generally have little problem with me vaping, even in their home because there is no smell at all. My parents are in their seventies now and don't fully understand what vaping is but they do know it is a nicotine driven habit for me, however, they far prefer it to smoking cigarettes.
