ok i have never modded a PV... there is so much information everywhere that i have info overload...lol

Concerning Switches/Buttons - i have a chance to trade for some switches - there are 6 total - 3 normally closed and 3 normally open rated at 3amps - which do i get? And maybe why??

i want to start out simple..i am not looking to build a VV, i am happy with my present mod and not looking for more power...yet

Concerning a tube mod - do people ever use 2 batteries in their mods or just one big battery? Like i said...total mod newb..lol

now what battery do i use?..length is not set, it can be cut to desired or best size.

this is the tube i want to mod.. idea from str8... a tripod leg

almost same length as ego 1000mah battery with dual on it and a drip tip.... bigger around in size...

You will need to see what size slides into it, I'd suspect 17mm. For a vape switch it's a momentary close switch. I use dual batts at times for 7.4v or in my BP.

  3. I would start with either an 18650 or 17670 mod depending on what will fit. Make sure to get a high amp switch for longevity and so you can stack rcr123a's when you want to try hv vaping.

I never been a tube modder, since only options to make it sleek is have the button on the bottom of the PV. Tube PV's that have the button sticking out on the side look tacky to me, but that is just my preference. That is the whole point of modding, to use your imagination. I would first see if the tubing can be used for your negative and just use a spring to give the connection. Then your imagination will do the rest on getting the positive and activation of the mod for the top. If you can find a small switch like an ego type button would be nice for it, since I have seen many mods with that type of button. Will require some drilling and modification to keep the batteries in place, then you need to see how you will put the connector. Keep us updated Good luck

You will want a normally open switch . Normally open means off when the button is no pressed . Open refers to open circuit . Normally closed means its making a connection all the time and when you press it it turns off .

With that stand you got im not sure you will really fit a decent size battery in it . You may have to got with a single 10440 which is the same size as a AAA . A 14500 is the size of a AA

With any mod you will need at least a 3amp switch . They will not be able to fit in that tube though so you will have to go with a tact switch and small smd mosfet . You could get a premade ego circuit with button from goodprophets . They are cheap too at like 1.99

The one i built used the body of the tripod which is a much bigger diameter .

Looked smaller in the first pic . From the looks of it the best battery choice will be a 14500 battery which is the same size as a AA battery . Since its aluminum you should be able to use the body as your ground connection . Only thing he said that could use a little more info is the ego button . You can not use a small rated button like that without a mosfet . Well you can but it will fail quickly since your exceeding the max rating of the button . The mosfet keeps the button from seeing the current and takes the load off the button . I think a 3A horn switch like the ones sold at madvapes will be your best best for a bottom mounted switch . You will need to make somthing to hold and isolate the positive connection . That will be the only difficult parts in these type of mods . The rest comes pretty simple Drill the top for the connector . The connector touching the body creates your ground . Running the positive of the connector wire to the piece you make for the positive of the battery . Then all thats left is making something to isolate one pin on the bottom mounted switch . On switch post will go to the battery and the other switch post will run to the body . Those can not touch or your PV will always be on .

One thing from the pic i see that may make this mod hard is theres no seperation around the battery connector end so you will have a super hard time mounting the isolated positive connection since you will have to somehow reach all the way up the tube and find a way to mount it so it doesnt move . Tube mods arnt simple to build in general . They usually are a hassle even for me . A copper tube mod would be much much much easier than a solid tube .

I really think that a 17670 or 18650 would fit in that tube, but I am not a modder so you should probably listen to STR8V8PING.

its actually the same exact size as an 18650 battery

Well you always want to use the biggest battery possible . 18650's are big batts . I was gonna say the tube looks to be around the same but on the OD.
