The Kick -- After all the hub-bub, I just gotta ask...

Looking for thoughts or actual knowledge to one of my burning questions.

Why do I see so many Kicks up for sale by people who purchased?

Everyone was on pins and needles, ready to mass-storm whomever was selling the Kick, to get one. Now I see so many on the classies, especially over in the "other" place, it makes me wonder why.

I don't have one, and don't want one, but I have followed the hoopla, and the actual release. Just has me so curious why so many are selling when they waited so long to get it.

Thanks all. Inquiring minds just gotta know

My guess is the 10w limit.

I personally thought it just flat out sucked . i used it like twice and just didnt like it. Not even the 10w limit. Its just taking the mod apart to adjust is so annoying and even more when you cant tell where your setting the thing so you need to take it apart 3-4 time befor you got it set where you want. . It was nowhere as easy as just using a VV device and the performance wasnt really better then a vv device . The main thing however is that the battery life was just horrible. Getting 2-3 hours with a 18490 or 4 hours with a 18650 is bad and even less time when set at a higher wattage. Then there was the issue of it sometimes not making good contact .Just a big fail imo.

Main issue with batt life is the thing starts pulsing indicated batterys dead while the batt still has 3.6v. That cuts the battery life in half.

Bingo...that's why I sold mine. They don't hit hard enough for me.

5. Yep, everything you all have said thus far is exactly what I figured were some of the main reasons for the flood of classie sales, and those are the main reasons I was never on the bandwagon from the start.

I was disappointed they limited it to 10w after all the time in development.

But I knew right from the start, the one thing that would annoy me to drink (more) was having to always take apart the mod just to adjust it, missing the spot, and having to take it apart again. would annoy the shit out of me. I won't even buy a box mod if the control is inside and I have to always pop off the battery door to adjust. I like easy-access outside controls. I don't like losing vape time.

Thanks Fazed, Str8, and hairball. So glad I stuck with my gut instincts not to get on the "Kick" kick.

My experience with the Kick isn't really better than the people that have already posted but it is different.

I found that when the kick was adjusted to my vaping preference it vaped almost identically to my Precise+ or my Reo without the kick. That being said it maintained the same vape until the battery needed charged, but like everyone said the battery life was poor.

I prefer my 18650 battery mods without the Kick.

7. We buy the larger mAh batts so we get better life. Kind of defeats the purpose of getting bigger batts for the sake of doing VV. But I guess if someone wants to see what VV is all about, and knows it isn't quite the same method of achieving VV (dial, buttons, etc.), it's a cheap way to experience it.

Thanks.

Glad my question is no longer a question.

8. I like mine because it keeps the wattage consistent with no sag. I don't use it with higher ohm stuff, just my normal LR gear, and it performs well. Gets decent battery life too. I think the real problems start arising when people try to use it with a 2-3ohm atty/carto.

Also, like all things in vaping, taste is subjective. It's not for everyone.

Glad we could all pitch in and give you a well rounded answer. :)

10. yes that too. It didnt vape any different then my VV mods.In fact might be a little worse. All my VV mods maintain voltage under load though so the kick may work slightly better then a mod that dont. THe kicks main feature i could care less about which is that it automatically adjusts for whatever ohm atty/carto you put on to maintain the same wattage . I usually vape the same ohm so it doesnt help me in the slightest.

I have had my kick since it has come out pretty much. Since I have been into mods I have been a 6v vaper. Sometimes I find I like a lighter vape. This is where the kick comes in handy for me. 5v-5.5v is sometimes perfect. Yes you hve to take the kick out and adjust from time to time. And yes you need to clean the ground spring every so often. But honestly, once i got passed the frustration of figured out how this thing really worked, for $45 this thing is a major win for me. I have had the kick in my Reo Grand now for over a month and it has been set and forgotten about. For somebody that has general mod knowledge down and is a 3.7v vaper or 6v is ok but just a tad too much. Go for the kick. Especially if you dont want/cant spend the big bucks to go VV.

Super win IMO, oh and if you didnt have to mod damn near every device ive seen, but non the less pretty wicked...

You are all so appreciated. Very well-rounded and varied opinions.

There always seems to be a buyer when one hits the classies, even at the double or triple the original price. At least the purchaser isn't out the money like with some other things. That, in itself, is a good thing.

My questions usually turn into another question, but not this time.

Where's my calendar -- gotta mark it !!

I think it maintains the hit better, the voltage drop from the batts doesn't matter as much from 4.2 to 3.7, I think they are a complete win for the GG users amonst us..:)

14. I just heard that they should be in stock on Monday, Sheyna. Sign up for notification at ElectronicStix and Altsmoke.

15. Not much more to be said here but my main turnoff with the Kick was having to take the mod apart to make adjustments. That right there did it for me. I love VV. I don't need VW and I like the voltage dial where I can easily and quickly get to it.

Thanks Chaos, but I have no desire to own/use a Kick.

That info might be useful for someone else, though, if the thread title catches their attention.

17. The kick has its place but not really for the person who owns and like VV mods. If you own 3.7 tube mods its a good addition.

18. This is a great subject and the variety of answers is interesting.

Sheyna so glad you asked .

Definitely glad you asked the question Sheyna. Didn't know they were around 45.00 as I've seen them sell higher too. The price is the main reason I never replied to the classies but now I don't feel like I'm missing out.

I was told about the kick and I checked them out , I didn't like the idea of carrying a small screw driver around to take a unit apart to reset if you didn't like what it was at the time. Personally I don't care if I am sitting at home all the time I still do not care to constantly fiddle with taking things apart and putting back together. Maybe its a guy thing, but I can put that money toward a vv mod that doesn't require fiddling.
