Suggested wiring for modding?

Discussion in 'Vape Mod Talk' started by richiesamborafan, Apr 7, 2015.

  1. All of my standard 2x and 3xAA battery mods came with seems to be like 22gauge wires. My last mod I made i used 18gauge wire, now is there a difference using larger wiring to build your mods? For some reason my toy mod seems to be working extremely well and wondering if the thicker wiring has something to do with it. Or maybe I have a fresh set of 14500 batts.

Please refer to this wiring chart:
American Wire Gauge table and AWG Electrical Current Load Limits with skin depth frequencies

According to the chart, 22 ga wire is good for up to 7 amps, 18 ga is good for 16 amps. It is true that wire has an inherent resistance, but we're talking about ohms per 1000 feet, in a mod the wire resistance is negligible.

Now that I've said that, of course bigger is always better so long as it doesn't interfere with assembly.

    Hope that helps

Ya got ya, so maybe the new batteries that are making my new toy feel a bit better lol. My 18650's are about 3 months old on one and 2 on the other. They were in rotate every 2 days for the past 2 months.
