Ok... Well and truly .comght the bug now, seeing my collection of mods, tanks, juices and accs grow exponentially at an alarming rate. Well I think I'm ready to try some mixing... I want to buy unflavoured juice w/nic for base to mix with some concentrates I've got sitting here waiting for some action. They are VK I-mix, recommended at 15-25% mixing ratio so I'm gonna split the difference and hit them at 20% to begin with. I'm currently vaping 12mg as I'm not yet weened off the analogs (more habit & stress smoking than anything at this point), I think I could easily handle more but don't want to really be substantially increasing my nic intake at this point.

Considering this, and that I want to achieve 50/50 ratio (if not slightly higher VG vs. PG), and that I'll be mixing at 20% flavour ratio (eg 5ml >> 20ml base, close enough) - I'm thinking I should be looking for base mix that is 18mg nic or so, and 30:70 or 80:20 PG:VG? for resulting nic strength of ~14mg and VG ratio of 55-65% ? (flavour PG based, all figures rough estimates).

And let me take the opportunity to apologise beforehand for asking what has certainly been asked and answered more than once before... have searched, but need confirmation before I go and do something stupid and/or waste too much time and money with failed experiments. Cheers y'all.

*for any interested the flavours I'm starting with are Green Tea, Melon & Butterscotch

No silly questions, your calcs are about right at 14% but most people would probably suggest that you buy a higher % nic and mix it down with some pg / vg and using a ejuice calculator to give you more options when mixing your own DIY.

+1 for what Dad has said.
The only other thing I can add, is depending on the amount of nic you plan to buy, go for nic in PG. PG based nic will keep for longer in the freezer than if cut with VG and for the mix ratio you are suggesting, you will still be able to reach it.
    Cheers

Just download this calculator, fill in the boxes for your preferences hit calculate and it will give you the measurements you need or tell you if your ratios are no good (negative numbers).

eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator

Makes it a hell of a lot easier.
