    So I went out, got parts and put together a little "stealth box" with no led, and used regular aaa rechargeables.. I wanted to use protected 14500 batteries, but could not find any locally. radio shack only had the usuals, and even the fancy "batteries plus" store gave me a line of shit about how I needed a permit to buy protected cell batteries at 3.7 volts.. of course they had no problem selling lead acid batteries at 12, 9 or 6 volts:confused: so where, locally can one aquire your typical mod battery? I thought of using an old cell phone battery that is 3.6 volt and 1500 mah, but it's too oblong for my battery boxes, and a replacement would run me 30 bucks or so and require an onboard charging plug.. so where do I find 14500's ? Any how this is what I came up with for starters, and although the atty connector is a bit on the crooked side, the thing's real solid and hits like a train, and having an off switch fucking rocks.

    Thats kinda odd I have bought myself 14505's from a battery's plus, well they are not that smart when it comes to batteries after all. Quite a few vendors here on this forum sell 14500's, I am pretty sure electronicstix.com kalamazoovaporshop.com madvapes.com altsmoke.com (I think), and of course ebay and amazon. Not to shabby for your first box (I can't make any pv). BTW what is the voltage on that box?

    @skorne: I think its running @ 3.6v

  4. yeah it's 3.6 volt, tho at a full charge it's like 4.2, and even though the batteries are rated at 850 mah, I get about 2 days at a charge off it, using a LR atty.

    Madvapes is the shit. I got my connector and switch from them, but was under the impression I could score a 14500 or two somewhere locally.

    here's number 2 and 3. my second was still pretty crazy on the wiring and spilled epoxy, but I learned enough in the process for the third time to be the charm. This time I was smart enough to put an atty on the connector before epoxy so it's straight, and masked off all the outer openings so no jbweld leaked thru. Next up is a tube mod.
