Noob question I see people mentioning RY4 in this area. Is it a particularly good tobacco flavouring? I sought it out on TJF and find it is out of stock, but there is an RY6 from Hangsen there now. Is it different, better? My wife has moved on from the tobacco flavourings now, though she loves Blackfire, which doesn't seem terribly tobacco flavoured to me, and I'm looking for something a bit more real...
The search for the elusive tobacco flavour. So I have heard, RY4 is short for RuYan 4. the fourth mix so to speak. There is 1, 2, 3, and so on. And there are as many variants of others interpretation of the original RY4 and the others. for me it's not a tobacco, but a nice slightly sweet vape. wife thinks it's cotton candy, but doesn't taste like it.it doesn't taste dry or smoky. There are also several juices closer to a real smoke, but sadly, the ashtray taste is irreplaceable. try some of the local doublers
CMB posted a great recipe in the thread below, about post no. 8 ... it's truly delicious, not a tobacco taste, I don't think that's possible but a really satisfying vape... I used a bit less sweetener and banana for my own tastes, but I'd definitely recommend it Diy recipes Started by spud, 31-10-13 01:27 AM ( my links never work)
RY types are super sweet and caramelly, not really cig flavoured. If you want something like that as far as local doublers, people like vapekings VK4 And Kritike makes a few like affinity and alchemy, he should be finding a new vendor soon. El toro cigarrillos from house of liquid is very pricey, but made with real tobacco and supposed to be the closet to the real thing. I like milder, darker, less sweet flavours personally. I don't mind black and mild concentrate if I want something 'tobacco-y' these days.
RY4 is a tobacco, caramel, vanilla and nuts. The TFA RY4 Double here is really good TPA / TFA RY4 Double Concentrate - Juice Factory This is one of my favourite "true to form" RY4 recipes. TFA RY4 Double 10% vanillin 10% 2% 1drop/10ml Acetal Pyrazine 0.5% SC Tobacco 0.5% SC Caramel Sweetner 1 drop/ 10ml GSC Tobac (or you could use Tobacco Absolute) TFA = the flavour apprentice SC = Super Concentrate GSC = Gourmet Super Concentrate
Reads like another must try, so glad I found that again, I copied some recipes from the thread into my notebook, then couldn't remember what was whose ... then after I'd made it, lost my notes and forgot about it until now .. it's really a great vape and I'll be making it again, thanks
sassy my taste has changed now that i been vaping a while - but in the early days i found any sweet or caramel ry4 flavours hard to enjoy i tried a few of the hangsen tobacco concentrates but found them to be not as good as the super concentrates if you want a non sweet/non caramel tobacco flavour get the ry6 and the flu cured from the super concenrates - they are both pretty good - i mix them at 2% these days - any higher than that they kinda taste a bit "oily" on the exhale or something for me on a dripper the tuscan is nice too and the old captain has great throat hit with a little hint of chocolate as well i tried the ry6 hangsen 0mg juice from juice factory and was just okay but not very strong flavour wise - havent tried the hangsen ry6 flavour tho
I like the JF ry6. It's lighter and tastes/smells smokey. Reminded me of BBQ (not meat smell ) and caramelised onion in the background.
Cool, thanks guys. I guess I'll just buy some and see how it goes. Given how quickly my wife and I have diverged in tastes (coming from the same analogs even), I probably shouldn't buy large quantities of anything!
