So I finally got around to putting together a VV, I didn't wanna screw up all my more expensive parts so I decide my first go at a VV would be a simple one without the display or TI chip, I picked up a little kit from MV for giggles and got a red box because I would end up mixing stuff up if I just continued to make blue ones. I thought about just buying a MV premade but I looked at it, couldn't stand the way they hacked the box or that it was black and said...I can make it for less, I'll give it a go.

I didn't like the way the pot sat on the little pre-etched board to I bent the pins a little and ran a small wire and was able to make it sit at the edge of the board and that way I only had to drill a small hole that could fit a small screwdriver. It all turned out pretty good and like Asnider said on my 5v box, I make everything clean and use crystal epoxy very sparingly because I am just into the tech porn of being able to see the wiring. It does get difficult with the small wires because if I melt a cover I end up redoing it because I hate the look of melted sheaths.

Works great, MV did put out a pretty brilliant little pre-etched board and was fairly easy to solder compared to what a nightmare I thought it would be trying to jam 20 gauge into that little thing and have room. Nice thing about those boards is you can solder either side so I was able to negotiate quite a bit easier. Although I do with they had a multi-turn pot because a quarter turn on those single turns they have goes from 4 volts to 6. That's a pretty hairy piece if you're trying to dial in a specific voltage.

Actually it vapes really really nicely. I have heard a lot of folks say that tobacco is better at higher volts and that's why I probably wasn't enjoying it. As it turns out, even at 6 volts I'm just not a tobacco person. It goes great from 3.2v all the way to 6v but I think I'm more of a 4.5-5v myself, most of my sweeter juices are better at 4.2v while I am liking a bit higher for my home-brew menthol.

I just wanted a VV over a static 5v because of the fact that I like a sweet juice and a menthol and they're good at different volts.

    Appreciate the compliment.
