Do any of you pre-clean ready made coils? or are some just shit just becomse?

Been vaping for 16 months and I am now starting to wonder if I wrote off flavours becomse of a bad coil rather than bad flavour. I use genuine Kanger coils.

The reason I think this is that I've been using the same flavour now for months and I know when the flavour, throat hit or vapour drops off I need to change coils. I do this about once a week.

Now becomse I know exactly what it tastes like, I have found a few coils change the taste of the eliquid (not for the better). In fact, I persist and vape a second tank and it might improve a little but doesn't get rid of the yukky taste completely.

So, how do you clean your coils before you use them?

No I don't clean my BVC coils. Some coil heads seem to take a tank or too to come good.

Ive found that changing the coil and letting them sit overnight soaking up the juice works quite well, they still take a little bit to "bed" in but I dont think it takes as long....... or it all could just be in my head haha.

You can dry burn a horizontal coil prior to use, and this does help with the bedding in time ... but verticals (aka BVC) are more difficult to do and I wouldn't recommend it.

genuine kanger or no - the consistency of ready made coil and wick - or rather the maddening lack of consistency - is what drove me away from kanger stuff - and to tell the truth its why i wont even bring myself to try some of the new amazing sounding tank systems that have come out over the last year - the greater the hype re a tank and ready made coil system the more i say to myself "yeah right - sooner or later the quality control is gonna drop" once the hype of the product comnch has passed - dry burning gets the stuff off the coil but what about the stuff in the wick?

if you are still intent on vaping ready made "genuine" kanger coils even after the bad experiences you are having then probably u will need to soak them before use - first in vodka for a day then in water for a day and see how you go - for me sometimes that worked and sometimes it didnt but your mileage may vary

I believe most of the premade coils we buy are Ni-chrome, so they need a short time to break in & the coil to oxidize.
