If I were to prototype or even build off of a board like this how do I complete the circuits?? would I need to have a wire jumper on the back side from point to point?

  2. I was wondering the same thing. But then I got to thinking and decided I should just leave it up to the people who know what the hell they are doing.

Easiest way would be with solder bridges. You could use a dremel to do some ghetto traces, too, or do the jumpers on the back like you said.

Matt, if you are going to experiment with prototypes, I would suggest a solderless Breadboard instead. Much more easy to see and understand what you are doing with one of those since all jumpers and connections are done only on one side.

Yeah I will do that to but I have been looking at some different enclosures and have a few ideas I may want to try, some vaping some not.

Right now I am just getting ideas till the job prospects look better.

If you do decide to go the solderless breadboard route (and it's damn near necessary for testing circuits!) buy your stuff on eBay, not Ratshack or Frys. You can usually pick up a good breadboard and some jumpers cheap. They ship from China, though, so be prepared to wait...

Oh yeah I definately have a few of those on my watch list.

Not real necessary for simple circuits but if I decide to go to a switching regulator or a booster then I would definately want to mock that up first and test it.

Breadboarding REALLY comes in handy when you've got a bad component and need to isolate it.

  9. Yes jumper wires are needed for Proto board . If you even need any etched PCB's made let me know .

  10. I might be interested in etching board if I want to downsize the circuit to make space, I have often read about etching but I never reinforce what I read with actual application. Maybe here soon I can get with you and do it one time.

  11. I eitch boards everyday for work so its not a prob . Are you doing anything specific ? I have some boards made up already for curtain things like PTR8100 chips and 4050c chips .

right now just gonna play with pre built regulator boards and then look in building my own on a bread board then move to actual mod boxes with big proto boards. If I make it this far and decide to make the circuits smaller then I will look into etching out a circuit to save room and make things more sleek and refined.

I have no problems vaping a VHS box sized mod while prototyping....LOL

Right now I am going to be working on boost mods built on a 26650 platform and see where I go from there.

Pick up some free TI 4050c chips !

I might be begging you for boards soon, and I already think you hate me.....LMFAO, I have a few projects and my hands are not steady enough to etch a board anymore :)
