Mixing vanillin

Heya guys

How do u guys mix vanillin

1g per 9 ml?
So a 10% mix like citric acid

 

That's how I do it. 1 gm to 9ml PG
I mix in a glass bottle and then out the bottle in a jug with hot water to assist the dissolving. Shaking every so often until clear

 

Then if a recipe asks for 4% vanillin, how much do I add, or just put 4 % in the calculator and add like a normal flav concentrate.

comse I normally do 1 drop per 5 ml with citric acid

 

It becomes 4% of the recipe. Its strong but it mellows. Most I have used is 3% of that mix (steeped for a week or so first)

 

Sometimes this forum reads my mind. I was just wondering about this stuff. I presume this is some sort of vanilla concentrate. I'm a total vanilla addict and on the hunt for a perfect vanilla mix.

 

just mad up a space jam clone

4% Vanillin
10% blueberry extra
6% pomegranite

mixed at 50/50 and 6 mg

see how it turn out after an hour warm water bath

 

Oh yum, might have to try this. Think I'll be getting some vanillin!

 

I couldn't get vanillin to dissolve into PG.. what's the secret? I tried heating it, and it just sat there in the bottom of the bottle.

 

For me, it's ten percent vanillin per weight by PG. I also like using ethyl vanillin which can be a bit sweeter than regular vanillin. I usually mix vanillin with custard or cinnamon spice. Otherwise, you can also try Toasted Almond, Bourbon and Sugar in the mix. Yum!
