Tonite I promised a lodge brother I would make him a 3.7v boxmod, just like the one I made last nite for my in-laws. So, cocky as I am, I decided to go out to the drillpress and get busy drilling holes. Guess what?

I drilled all the holes on the wrong side of the box .. Look (last nite on the left)

Well, so as not to waste a $1 box, I made some redesigns on the fly

As you can see, the innards look way different than the mod in Boxmods 101 .. besides having the circuitry and battery opposite of the previous mod, I decided to wire it "n-channel"-like, switching the negative rather than the positive side. Since I did that, I thought, I might as well use a bi-colored LED.

Here's the mod with the master switch ON

And here is it while vaping. Note the LED is now RED (the dominant color)

Note from picture #2, the LED has 3 legs. The long one is B- RED, the medium one is B- Green, the center conductor is B+ .. I put a single current-limiting resistor on the B+ leg.

Cost: the same as the previous one: about 3 bucks.

Bottom line: cheapskates don't throw anything away, they work around their mistakes :)
