Looking for advice on a new PV

Hi all, first post here. I'm hoping that I can get some good advice on a new PV that will last me for 1 year+.

I have been using PVs since 2008; I started off with cheap pen style devices, and moved to an eGo due to the longer lasting batteries. When my 1 ego battery broke, and the other died within a couple of hours I bought a GOGO. I soon realized how aweful having to charge a battery was through a connector. There were so many times where my battery didn't charge due to this reason.

Last month I chose to buy a lava tube, because I wanted to try VV, and was excited to have batteries that could be pulled out and stuck on a charger. The problem I have been facing with the LT is that I find it to be cheap chinese junk. The paint has been coming off of the endcap, the fire button sticks, the top cap is now starting to pop off, and I am just not finding anything that really satisfies me. I did like using a tank cartomizer, but I can't seem to find the right one to work well. I've tried 2.0,2.5, and 3.0 cartomizers. This still has left me wanting more.

Currently I am dripping on Cannon IKV 3.5 oHm. The problem with this is that I can't bring it above 4.8 volts without it tasting burnt.

So I am having a PV problem, as well as an atty/cart problem.

So I am looking at getting a new PV; however, I do want one that I would feel safe. I don't believe I want a mod that stacks batteries, but I'm not sure if I still need VV. I am currently looking at the Provari, a GG device, and the Empire Mod. I have noticed a lot of people on the forum swear by their GG, so my question is what is better about it over the provari? Does not being able to change the volts easily not bother you? Are you able to just find your sweet spot with the special atomizer tank systems you are using? I don't know much about the GG, but I've never heard anything bad about them. I have also heard a lot of good things about the katana, but I thought they don't make them anymore?

I have also been looking at the GG style tank atomizer systems. From what it sounds to be, the tank atomizer sounds like an amazing idea. Do you think a provari with some sort of tank atomizer/rebuildable adomizer would be something that I would finally find lasting joy in?

Any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated and will be strongly considered as I try to find my perfect vape.

p.s. I don't have a ton of money to buy a bunch of different mods, so I am really hoping to find something that I can use for a year+

    Thanks,
    Charlie

You need to decide if you want adjustablilty(VV) If so id go with the Provari since you dont want stacked batts .The provari will last you years and years of solid vaping and you really wont evn need another mods although most people cant resist another lol. Or do you want a 3.7mod (non adjustable since you dont want to stack batts). Then instead of adjusting the voltage to fit your atty/carto youd buy different ohm attys to adjust. I personally cant do 3.7mods anymore but its a personal preference. The GG is not a VV . Its the best because its built strong/mechanical and has various battery size options and attachments.

If you want a single battery PV you are better off looking at something like the Zenesis, it is a bit expensive but it is a Hybrid PV made with the highest standards, and honestly the best vape I have tried to date, I can't wait until my own get here. Hands down the best PV IMHO and simply amazing looking. they are available at Houseofhybrids.com

If you want a VV unit I would got with either a Buzz Pro or a Provari. I prefer the Buzz Pro because he is less expensive and a pioneer of VV vaping. The provari is a sweet looking PV but you are paying for looks because the tech is pretty much the same, but if you don't want to stack bat's then go with the Provari as Str8v8ping suggested.

If you want something smaller and more stealth like I would try to get on a list over at vapor wall for a ooSTURMoo mod, many people call them the most beautiful PV ever, I am inclined to agree :) Mechanical design, very sleak and beautiful

I wouldn't go with a GG, if you have issues or need parts you can end up waiting for ever. I think there has been a lot of issues with the GG distribution and I don't know how confident I would feel about it at the moment, I would wait to see how that whole situation pans out.

Honestly if you are just looking for a perfect vape for all day vaping I would try to get my hands on the Zenesis once they go for regular sale at the online shop hopefully in April or May. Actually House of Hybrids also makes Attomizer attachments that turn either the GG or Provari in to a true hybrid as well.

Although I have owned a lot of different mods and currently have a Reo Grand, ProVari V2, Precious-L and LV2, the Reo Grand is what I would choose if I could only pick 1. The reasons for that is, super easy to use, all mechanical with no wires, bottom fed with 6ml bottle, aircraft anodized aluminum, super low maintenance, nothing in it to fail or break, looks really nice, comes in a variety of color and costs only $142.

http://www.reosmods.com/index.php?I...rd=&keyword1=&keyword2=&limit=30&limitstart=0 I know most if not all of them say "out of stock" but if you are really serious about getting one, I may be able to help you.

actually yea I keep forgetting about the Reos Reo mod which is stupid of me since it is their name, lol, i guess when I think pv I either see tubes, wooden boxes, or cheap plastic mods. I always hear great thing about the Reos I am not a fan of the shape of their wood mod being a block, I really do love how the Reo Grande and Reo Mini look, kind of funny how I can find a shape pleasing in one material and not in another. I honestly don't know why I keep putting off getting a Reo Grande or the Reo Mini.

Oh yea because the reo grand's availability and my finances have not conincided yet, I really wish I could just spend someone elses money to buy everything I want........................

  9. Thank you all for the replies, they are greatly appreciated. I think I may have to take Karam's advice and stay away from a GG for a while. I think they are beautiful mods and may even be the king (this is without ever trying it tho :/ ), but they are very difficult to get, and I am not one who likes to buy a lot of different atomizers or carts. What I love about the VV is no matter what stage of it's life it is in ( breaking it in, normal funtion, end of life) you are able to adjust the volts to keep the thing going. I also am not a fan of hunting around for parts.

I did look at the Zennesis, and it looks great. Did he get this idea from the GG? I've seen several mods that all look very simmilar to the GG, but with different names. Is that their inspiration? I fear though, that the Zennesis will be just like the GG, where it's very difficult or expensive to get accessories for it.

    Further Questions:

What is the deal about the katana? I can't find much info on it.
What do you mean by a hybrid device?
Would there be any kind of tank atomizer device available for the Provari?
Anybody want my LT that's being held together with scotch tape? lol kidding...

    p.s.

That Strum Mod also looks great, is that difficult to get as well?

I believe the term hybrid device in this instance is that the Zenesis is a PV with a juice tank and fully rebuildable and configurable built-in atomizer.

All of my tanks and genisis mods fit and work fine on my Provari and BuzzPro

I don't think the Katana was manufactured for very long so there are not many available and people seem to hold onto them. You can find it on youtube by searching Katana and I think it is also a hybrid device.

The mods I own right now that I use daily or most days at least are my Provari mini, my P+ 18650 with a kick, my Reo grand and I am really missing my BuzzPros that are in the BuzzPro hospital.

It seems even those of us with favorites have more than one favorite.[IMG]

  11. It seems that we all go down the same path...looking and searching for the one PV that's just right... My first was the V2..did it's job got me off analogs..but I wanted more next the Mega Ego -T..I like it but still searching..next the Silver Bullet..nice but still looking...THEN I won a MOD here at NV which was a REO Grand.....I just received it last Thursday..still on the same 6ml bottle(Boba's) and I do believe for me...this is the one...I an enjoying this mod and it is what I would recommend.. I will be posting a review on my experience once my feet are back on solid ground( yes it's that good of a PV)...

STURM mod lol, yea they are kind of difficult to get a hold of, well not difficult, you add your name to a list and wait a while but they are beautiful.

A hybrid device is built in rebuilable atomizer. Zen~ hasn't knocked of the GG but he does have a Z-Atty for the GG's (Z-atty-g) and he also has units that convert the Provari (Z-atty-pro) into a hybrid as well. He is making one to convert the megaladons (Z-atty-m)

There are no real accessories for the device, you buy Kanthal wire to make the coils (a couple of bucks last a year) and some stainless steel mesh to make the wicks (a few bucks can last a long ass time). Zen~ provides 6 prerolled 325, 6 prerolled 400, a few feet of Kanthal, and the allen wrenches to turn the screws when replacing the coil. (All tools and filling implements are included) And they come with a really bad ass Vaultz case that can hold 4 PV's and a lot of extra batteries ;) Zen~ really is anal retentive perfectionist and won't settle for less then the best device possible, honestly if you have the time, you should read Zen~'s posts over at ECF, he is completely transparent about all aspects of the project, and even brings up issues before anyone had them arise and worked out solutions to problems that haven't arisen and is replacing parts (switch and tank) he was not happy with, the tanks weren't tempered after the Fused Quartz was cut, and he wasn't happy with the design for the switches, instead of delaying the release, he went with the other switched which I have no issue with, and is shipping out replacment switches with a prepaid return envelope to return the old switch. He announced the upgrade before anyone actually had a PV in their hands.

I have a few issues with the Katana, lol but lets just say when someone builds a PV they should be completely aware of how the materials used to build the PV respond to the device being used..................

There are a couple of other hybrids being built at the moment, but yea the Zenesis is hands down my favorite, but like Doggin said I have a lot of favorites, but the Zenesis is hands down top dog for all day vaping IMO..........

Wow, well I am very glad for the guy making the Zen then, to be able to compete with the best of the best. So the bottom button mods must not bother you? I've never tried it myself, does it take time to get used to it?

Anybody living in the CNY area have any of these great mods? I wish there were stores around that I could try these things out before I spend a lot on them :-/

I'm leaning towards a provari, then maybe I'll just get Zen's atty. That is until I graduate and get a real job :)

Thanks again for all the replies!

That was great info on the zenisis thank you......................

  16. Some ppl seem to really like the bottom buttons. Me, not so much I do have a Precise+ 18650 and plan to keep it as I want one totally mechanical mod and the Precise line is great. I use it some on most days but prefer my BuzzPros and Provari as I like to tweak the voltage.

I do however LOVE my Genisis mods and want to add a Zen tank atty when they are available.

Precise Plus for the win :) Can't go wrong with any Super-T mod...plus they have a lifetime warranty and Super-T has lifetime refinishing (outstanding and unheard of)
