Leonardo DiCaprio may be pulling in acting honors this awards season, but he gets no applause from the American Lung Association for sucking on a vape pen at the Screen Actors Guild Awards ceremony Saturday.

The actor was seen sitting at a table during the awards presentation, holding an electronic cigarette between his lips. He was waiting to hear that he had won an award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role for "The Revenant."

For his vape display, the American Lung Association rebuked DiCaprio Monday, saying his conduct was "deeply troubling," TMZ reported.

The nonprofit organization dedicated to improving lung health also pointed out the health risks associated with vaping in a tweet by referencing the SAG Awards.

"Spot someone vaping at the #SAGawards Sat. night? Learn more about health risks of #ecigs: Lung.org/ecigs," the association tweeted.

The association says vape pens expose others to secondhand dangers, including cancer.

According to TMZ, it's illegal to smoke vape pens in Los Angeles restaurants, bars and other public places. However, that prohibition doesn't apply to "theatrical production sites" within the city limits.

The Shrine Auditorium, where the SAG awards were held, apparently qualifies as a theatrical production site.

DiCaprio has yet to respond to the Lung Associations's criticism.
