JiB charger for 18650

The JiB charger is amazing. So fast and efficient. Using my ego 18650 mod from healthcabin, can i use this charger by plugging it into the top and charging my 18650 batteries??

 

Why do I think that's a really bad idea...

 

Comparing my jib charger to my pila= jib out put is 9v, 2 amp the pila is = 4.2v, 600 ma that is a big difference. I'd definitely talk to johny before you do.Might stress the batterie to much.

depends on 3 things in this case ..
what does the power supply do, what does the ecig do, and what does the battery do. If you don't thoroughly understand 1 of them then do NOT do it.
you need something to limit the current and something to turn off the current.

I currently charge protected batts with a current limited 6v supply, relying on the cell to turn off when charged, I wouldn't recommend it though. I have also installed a new fire alarm.

Does that ego mod have a circuit protection in it??

 

The best way to find out if it might be safe to use it would be to send johnnyinbris a PM and ask him.

Also a better solution may be to buy another couple of batteries so you always have one charged while the other is charging, that way you don't need to fast charge.

Skip to 2min and then think about that happening near your kids/face/valuables/flammable substances, inside a metal tube.

If you are serious about trying something, get one of those, a 18650 battery holder and a connector suitable for the jib charger.
connect input, set output voltage to 4.2v, short the output with a multimeter and set current to say 1.5A (they will handle 3A but the cheapo battery holders melt) .. connect battery.
The LED will go blue when the charge current is down to 150mA .. this works for non protected batterys.
protected batterys .. what is happening is that the charge voltage is being held to 4.2v and the current slows to a trickle as it nears charging, in that case, set the output voltage to something over 4.2v (I use 6 to 9v usually) and leave the charge current at 1.5A .. the battery will turn off when charged. It will charge at 1.5A till full, I have also charged at 3A .. like I said all that happens is the battery holder trys to melt.

putting an unprotected battery on there will be a fire hazard. absolute must to have charger at 4.2v when charging unprotecteds.

Maybe have a look at the Soshine 18650.com S1 max-III (Ver 3) Rapid Charger for 1 - 4 Lithium ion Battery, I have one and it works great.

I would take ozjubb's suggestion rather than risking blowing stuff up.. or simply contact jib.

 

If you like explosions, go for it.

If you want to charge the battery, probably not a good idea

 

all I know is that my soshine sc-s2 18650 charger is awesome, worth every penny! charges a flat battery to full before I can make a dent in a fresh one
