So I ordered some parts to make the evercool mod. Has anyone here made one? Are there any things to watch out for? This seems a little bit more complicated then standard vv mods. Thanks
It's only a tiny bit more involved than an EverHot mod. The only advice I have for you is to follow your circuit diagram and make sure you know EXACTLY where everything's going before you start cutting.
well TI being the great free sample manufacturer that they are sent me my ptr08100wvd I am looking at it now. I was wanting to know of any great places for capacitors and pots. I am looking for something other then a mini screwdriver to make adjustments to the voltage with that won't kill me on cost.... ideas??
check out mouser, they have tons of parts and pieces to put these things together, heard good things about digikey too. And honestly, you don't NEED to use capacitors for this. I did on my very first evercool mod, and have built about 10 of them since, without the caps, never had a problem at all.
I was doing a little more reading about capacitors and was wondering in the evercool mod is it used to "condition" or smooth the power current or what? If they can be omitted all together I am trying to see the purpose in them for the build
Caps do a couple things especially for this mod, it smooths out the ripple slightly and it helps to maintain the current. It actually helps slightly on batteries but mainly helps prolong the life of atty's in my opinion. I could be wrong Devil
