I have just received some AW batteries for my mod. They are shorter than your regular 18650 battery as we all know. For a quick fix I have neatly folded some foil up and put on each negative connection to act as a spacer and it seems to have done the job quite well, for the time being. I will probably pick up some springs in the next couple of days to act as a far better spacer. Does any one have any other ideas on what would make a good spacer?

neo magnets work quite well, i have about 6 different sizes now, so easy to keep organised too, they love to be in a little stack.

    Actually...a 2000mAh AW IMR 18650 is 65mm long.

Other "18650" batteries tend to be 1-2mm longer i.e. 66mm or 67mm longer, this can be for a variety of reasons.

But as Stoney said...magnets are a good way to fill the gap.

Wow thanks for that hack :p It's all good I just grabbed a spring from work and it's done the trick. Foil worked well to my suprise though.

foil .. aluminium, the same stuff they make power lines out of :)
its not as good a conductor as copper, buts its cheaper and lighter so the poles don't have to be as solid.
