    COPPER TUBE MOD:
The best material to build a MOD is Copper. Copper is an excellent conductor of electricity. Technically it is better than thin walled tin, alloy, cast or aluminum which are not great conductors.
A "NO SOLDER" PV can lead to poor connections and amperage loss if not properly aligned to the adjoining parts. I have experienced this with a mod I bought.

I have just built a thick walled copper tube mod. More like copper pipe. I soldered the atty base to the copper cap and the atty positive directly to the switch. The switch is a 3amp switch. The other end of the switch is soldered to the positive copper head screw, filed flat to fit flush against the head of the battery post with the entire diameter of the screw covering the entire battery post.

All wire used is 20 gauged for less loss. I opted not to use thin 24-26 gauge telephone wire. The negative spring is a thick diameter gauged chrome plated steel. I would have used copper but the copper springs that I have seen are thin diameter and loose there spring tension. I'm sure there are good copper ones but I could not find any.

My view on the plunger is that the contact point would have to fit squarely flush for best contact. If there is any side to side play/movement full contact may not be achieved. So I went with the switch instead.

  2. Good morning O3LG, long time no chat.
There is a tremendous difference from my Indulgence V2 and my eGo. This thing is awesome. Much vapor production. The first 15 minutes of vaping on it, I noticed that my ears were ringing. I think that I am getting the full effect of Nicotine compared to the other 2 PV's I mentioned. I'm using the same atty and juice that I used on the Indulgence.
By the way the atty is a Joye 306 LR at 1.5 ohms w/ a 306 drip tip.

    Oh, it's a 3.7v with an 18650 2400mah Trustfire battery.

IMO no matter what you do with a copper mod it still looks like shit! Not just that it is heavy as fuck too. Who really wants to carry around a heavy copper tube that looks like shit? If connectivity is your your whole claim to fame with this one do your self a favor and and get a high voltage mod or a variable voltage one

hey skorne man im all for opinions but just chill out no need for that language you dont like a mod say so but what works works i mean what are you vaping on? seriously. i dont see nobody on here yelling at or anything so seriously quit being a troll and go suck on you crappy little pv that you over paid for. i mean if breakthru loves his copper than great i thank they look nice and would like to steampunk it out so it looks turn of the century but for me i mean a little 3 cell aa box wired up for 5v works so seriously no asked you for your comment and you prove that point becuase your comment and intelligible are irrelevant as they are minimal.

Well like I said it is my own opinion. But truthfully making a mod completely copper is going to what affect the voltage going to the atty by like what .1 or .2 volts (which is the max). Just changing out the carto or atty (given that the ohm on them varies) would easily make up this minute difference. Oh and btw I have yet to over pay for any mod

Well said O3LG, thanks for your support.
Skorne, I think you have to brush up on your etiquette as well as taking a refresher course on basic electricity. Sorry man if I riled you up with techniques.
    Peace man.

  7. I don't need to brush up on my etiquette I am telling it how I see it. I personally think it is kinda funny that O3LG is thinking he may know more about this e-cig stuff then myself (looking over his last few post's is a joke). So with this "mod" what voltage are you expecting to get to the atty?

Enough said ! ^^^^Look what he is comparing it to:rolleyes: Nice that you built it yourself! But it's like stepping back in time!

I guess I'm on the wrong forum. I thought this was a discussion forum. I didn't realize that this forum was a bashing forum with no moderator intervention. I'm sure if there is a moderator of some sort they confer with you for approval of content before someone posts.

    Breaktru,
You built yourself a nice mod that you like very much "Well Done"! When you build something and it vapes great awesome!! As for Skorne he's going to say what he feels and thinks no holding back whats on his mind. He actually vapes on a hand built variable voltage mod, that I built. I know when you build something when anyone says anything negative about it it goes to the heart.
You've come up with some good ways of putting together your mod. I like how you did the -neg end cap with the L groove and the ball bearing.
Not to bash the way some things where brought up about how the best material is copper and I built a Copper mod. Certainly some voltage and amp loss will be had with different types of materials. Some mods now especially some Variable Voltage mods do not! You dial in the Voltage and it stays at that. Yeh my Silver Bullet or Omega or GGTS loose a little conductivity because they are aluminum but they work fine. Actually great especially my GGTS with the AVS. I've built several mods nothing like you copper tube mod but that has given me some ideas and thats what this community is about. Discussion and ideas passed around. Please don't let Skorne turn you off of nu-vapor, he is what he is. His opinion can be rough at times, but like other have said these are just tubes that hold a battery!

Thank you capevette, your intelligent post is a sight for sore eyes. I love to read about user opinions on their various types of mods. Glad to read about your mod building. I was just pissed that he beat up on 03LG like that.
It wouldn't be fair to new members to get the wrong idea about the purpose of this forum and not post because of criticism.
Sorry I dragged you into this 03LG.

I am going to interject here and only say that so far with the postings that I have read, there has been no rules of the forum broken on this thread. Therefore, no action is needed by the moderators or admins. People are free to say what they want on here as long as it doesn't break any rules (what little rules we have). We are not like ECF on here and constantly ban people for their views. I welcome discussions and opinions on this forum. This is what makes it interesting to read. I am not going to slap people's hands because they say that a mod built by someone sucks. This is the real world, opinions are welcome.

    Hey breaktru,

read on your other forum that you were thinking of making a dual battery mod to work into VV.

You mentioned the 16340 and the 18650. you could break the tie with the 18350. same length as the 16340 (kinda) but the same diameter as the 18650. this way there is less battery jiggle inside the tube.

    Just food for thought.

PS I like to see home brews and although I am not part of the scene it does look "steampunk-ish" I give you a thumbs up on it seeing you have added the locking end cap feature and a few other customizations to it.

PSS Also you can use snap rings with your divots to make the top battery retainer more solid. Some I have seen have used nylon or delrin washers trimmed down and then pressed into the tub making it a secure top retainer for the battery.

Vape on my friend, vape on.

    Breaktru,
I think it is fantastic when people take on the challenge of building their own mods. I know how frustrating it can be as I have already tried and gave up. Funny that I can rebuild an engine, set gearing precisely in a rear axle, weld in a roll cage, build a computer from scratch and MacGyver practically anything but somehow building a mod that worked and looked good was out of my skill and patience range.;)

Would be neat if you could install a touch sensor or some other high tech small but durable switch. I also liked that ball bearing idea to eliminate the need for using a tap and die to install threads. Threads on soft metals do not hold up very well and are very easily stripped so your idea was fantastic.

Try not to get discouraged by negative comments as everyone will always have their opinions. Remember there are also people who appreciate the time and effort you took to make this forum a great source of information for all to enjoy:).

    Aloha and keep on modding!!!

  15. If we did not have people like that in our E-cig community... We d still be vaping on starter kits.
Any1 seen original Caesars mod ?, two pices of pipe but they took him a long way!

Mod hard my friend! Hoping to get more updates!

    HI Hoyt,
Yes that would make more sense to use 18350's. I didn't realize that 18mm width in that lenght was available when I had posted that thought. The locking cap is simple and works good. I did see the O-ring on the outside with slits cut into the cap and tube to hold it on. A snap ring in the inside of the tube would be a good idea and it would take up less room. I seen Gummy Bears end cap and really like it. It's a threaded kitchen faucet cap(male and female end). The part that holds the S.S. screen where the water comes out. Thank you for your views Hoyt.

    Aloha Keith,
Thanks buddy. Your right about cutting threads into the tubing. I would have to use fine threads which I don't have the capability to do. I'd like to try this method:

Breaktru, that looks like a good method, kind of a sleeve with threads and a threaded end cap. If you found one the right size, you could have the option to put the sleeve inside or outside the tube. Most like will have to go outside due to the batteries might not be able to slide out if it were inside.

Anyways, I have some modding of my own to do today. Already took out the dremel and set up my vise.;) Got some grinding and cutting to do on some cartoz for a project.

    Aloha and Happy Holidays!!!
