Im loving the black & gold juice from VK and wanted to have a go at trying to recreate it.
I have a slight idea what flavour apprentice flavours I will buy but i could do with some help if anyone has tried the Vk juice and can detect something else.
I can taste tabacco, fairy floss(cotten candy) and a citrus note that shows itself after a weeks steeping.
Also im not sure what tabbaco flavour to buy to use as my base flavour. I had a look and there are a lot of different tabacco concentrates and I cant afford to try them all to find a good one.

This will be my first diy juice from scratch and I dont wont it to taste like swamp ass

Funny how people's taste differ, I find the B&G very strong and funny tasting. I gave it to my son who also gave it away as he didn't like it lol.

I suppose you are right about peoples different taste perception. Im enjoying it and am going to order more until I can make something similar to my liking.

Im going to try flue cured tabacco but I dont know if I sould try EM or circus cotton candy with my recipe. I supose I will just have to experiment over time

The flavours you are experiencing could very well be attributed to the tobacco concentrates. Some tobacco concentrates do contain Ethyl Maltol - a flavourant used in fairy floss - as it adds sweetness. A citrus taste could easily come from a tobacco concentrate, especially considering it takes a week to surface. But, they could very well be additional concentrates as you have mentioned.

It's very hard to replicate something and what will make it even more difficult is not haven previously tasted the concentrates you wish to use. If you wanted to get remotely close (unless somebody can identify some of the flavours used) you're will need to buy a bunch of flavours that you think will have similarities and then it's all trial and error from there. Otherwise, the best you could probably do is an "interpretation" using a few flavours you like that share some of the qualities of VK B&G
