I am working with a place in china to make some new improved battery connectors. They are the 510 with the nut on it

I am looking into getting the main body in stainless steel, center pin sealed made of brass and nickel plated. The insulator (I am asking about this part being done now) being made from a nylon bushing. Bottom nut brass nickel plated. The parts in brass with nickel allows you to solder it. Apparently you can't solder to solid stainless steel.

The place will only do a run of 200 for 3 bucks a piece. Obviously I can't use this many so if anyone is interested let me know here I might work out a group buy on this.

Hopefully a setup like this will last forever and not short out or wear out etc..

I might take a few depending on when this is happening, I may as well start here getting parts, sounds like a good deal.:)

  3. Ok just got done talking to the person in china. They say they usually do silicon insulators but they would be happy to do nylon bushings in there. The only catch is they want a run of 500 @ 3.00 each for them to make them.

I am going to see if I can get this going somehow somewhere. This connector will be the best out there (my opinion of course).

A nylon bushing sounds like a solid mod for the connectors. So are you also talking about boring out the center pin hole a bit bigger and not using the "dog bone" center pin? I don't think nylon very pliable and the only option would be either in or once it came out gl getting it back in. I do like the sound of this tho.

  5. Not sure about that. I think I am going to tell them for 1500 bucks I want a prototype since this is a new concept.

Your idea is solid, I do agree a prototype would be nice
