I seem to have a little mod fever going on. In reality I'm actually just making box after box to hone skill so I can start making some cool VV boxes that I have planned out and finally getting the stuff in for.

Here is a little 5v box I made out of a translucent blue 3xAA box(Do you see a pattern with the blue here?) with a nice little 5v regulator chip with a control pin so the button has a better life. I was gonna use a little tactile switch just because it would've saved room but any of us know that if you've used one before, clicking them gets old fast and they give if you push too hard. Plus I have found an affinity for these raised button switches but they have a click type response like the tactile do.

Was gonna make it a light show like the 3.7v's I've done but it just gets a bit old especially driving at night, clicking it and bam there's a rave going on in your car. I put a little 3mm red ignition LED up by the connection after these were taken because I do like some reaction from it when I push the button because I can't always listen for atty noise.

I know this is a stupid question but are we allowed to sell our own personally made box mods in the FS/FT section? I'm starting to get a collection that could use a few good homes so that I can make more ha ha ha ha.

As always, breadboarded first because that's the only way to spot errors and problems. Also yes, I know that I could've made it a lot simpler on the BB but I was just firing it all on to check parts and stuff.

I always use big gauge wire because I want to know 100% that the atty is getting all the juice she's allowed, is 20 gauge too big? It is a bit of a challenge to jam all the wires in smaller boxes.

Yes, I agree, very nice indeed. I like translucent boxes but they are tricky to work with, everything if visible! You don't want a big glob of epoxy holding things together. Consequently, you need to fit all your components precisely so no epoxy is necessary, that's why I usually use little black boxes :)
