I had 4 x 510-t atty's that I figured were screwed. They wouldn't fire at all. I was going to bin them and then I checked them out a little closer and this is what I found.

It would appear that the constant screwing and un-screwing of the atty onto the 510 battery has .comsed that little centre part to get pushed in further than where it was when it was new.

So, I grabbed a pair of tweezers and put the egde of one side of them in the little groove and gently levered up on both sides to pull it back out a fraction.

    And now they work again!

So, if you have ANY (I suppose it will work for most) atty that doesn't fire anymore, before you bin it, try this. It may just resurrect them :)

(If this has been posted before, carry on. Nothing to see here) :)

a $10 multimeter can save a bit of cash and time in quick testing.
also why we recommend to not screw them on really tight if possible, if it makes contact on a battery while a turn off, then just go the half turn more, you can feel when the contact is starting to compress.
there is some variation in even ego batterys but particularly with mods and adapters where screwing it on a particular battery will mean it no longer works on another, the not to tight screw up will often stop that happening.

in 2 years, i have had very few actual coil failures, i think all related to strong tobacco flavours.

That's what made me think they were buggered in the first place. They were working on my 510-t but then just stopped. I checked the continuity with my multimeter and they were working, so I delved a little deeper and that's what I found. Needless to say I don't screw them up tight anymore :)
