I am curious as I am not a hardcore 6V vaper.

Which batteries are better? a LiFePO4 cell or these Li-Ion with the reduction/regulation diode chip in them to bring them down to 3.0 V? I ask because I am thinking of keeping more 3V batteeries around to vape more 6V then I do.

For those that do not know what I am taking about I will post some examples.

    these are LiFePO4 123a
    Amazon.com: Kits: 6 RCR123A 3.0V 750mAh LiFePO4 Rechargeable Batteries with a Smart Charger: Camera & Photo
    RCR123a LiFePO4 Rechargeable Battery

and these are the regulated Li-Ion:

    Ultrafire Protected 16340/RCR123A 3.0 V Li-Ion
    http://www.amazon.com/Tenergy-RCR123A-900mAh-Rechargeable-Batteries/dp/B001BLQQ7S

I am wondering if the performance is any better one over the other.

6 Volters come to my aid please and give me your opinions.

The LiFeP04's are better IMO, as well as safer. They are 3.2v batts, not 3v batts through. They hit a little harder and hotter, but they are only 500 mah. I started with the Tenergy 3v regulated li-ion's and then switched to the LiFeP04s and have been much happier. The Tenergy's are pretty good, but the best have been the AW's. I can tell a difference. They hold there voltage better IMO. I have not done an actual test, but just from use this is what I have observed.

I agree with everything J said. :) That has been my experience too! :)

Cool I will buy another 6 pack and charger.

I value both of your opinions enough to call it good.

    I still wished they made a 18350 LiFePO4

I'd 2nd, 3rd, and 4th that motion Matt. They make liFeP04 18650s but not 18350s. I've almost bought the 2X 18650 so many times, but I would only use that setup at home. I have extra batts and a charger at home so I have never seen the reason. 2X 18350's would be the same length though with better mah rating.

  6. Also, that is a great price for the 6 batts and a charger for the Tenergy's. Great mid range batt at a great price.

I think I am gonna tinker with a 2X18650 lifepo4 setup in a ratshack 4x2x1 project box. Probably as a gift to a friend.

Give a single 18650 or 18350 a go with a smoketech 1.5 or I06 1.8 guys... So much longer battery life and so close to the HV experience...

    Thanks Hope for the suggestion.

Actually that is what I normally vape. A Joye 510 1.5Ω on a 18650. For some reason that is all I like on lR anymore. I used to use LR 801 and 901 as well. For some reason I no longer like the LR on the 801/901s.

I do however like the mini 801 from IKV 3.5Ω@6V. I am gonna try this on the 901 as well but I really do like the 801 minis.

I take a stint where I just want something different than the 510 and I load up this 801 combo and rock that for a few day. Here recently I seem to be doing the 6V 801 thing more and more and if I continue I would want some more batteries to make sure I have plenty in rotation.

I know that 1.5Ω is supposed to be and mathmatically is the same as HV but there is something different about it.

  10. Seeing as you are a dripped seriously give the I06 a go. 1.5 for Ego batts, 1.8 for 4.2V.
