    Hi guys/gals,

I just received a 5ml sample doubler Zero Nicotine. 80%PG/20%VG blend in a 10ml bottle.

    I have some 100mg nicotine.

So how many ml of this nicotine do I put in the bottle to achieve 18mg strength?

    Cheers
    Phoenix

    easy ..

    nic portion
    5*0 + X*100 = Y*18 .. so 100X = 18Y

    qtys total

    5+X = Y

    100X = 18*(5+X)

    100X = 90 + 18X

    82X = 90

    X = 1.09ml

so add 1.09ml and you will make 6.09ml of 18mg

your 5ml sample doubler will make 10ml of juice. to get 18mg nic in 10ml of juice, you need to add 1.8ml of 100mg/ml nic. you will then have to add 3.2ml of pg and/or vg to make it up to 10ml altogether

Phoenix, do you have any PG and VG?

Is your nicotine PG or VG base or a mixture of the two?

What I suggest you do is order a bottle each of PG and VG from one of our vendors.
If you just mix your nicotine with your doubler, it's going to most likely be too strong.
When flavours are too strong, you'll notice they have an unpleasant, perfumey flavour.
More is not always better when it comes to flavours.

Once you get your VG and PG, I suggest you mix your nicotine down to 36mg.
To keep it at a 80:20 PG:VG ratio (which is pretty good to start with),
For every 10 ml of nicotine liquid, you'll need the following:

3.6 mL of your PG 100mg/mL nicotine.
    2 mL of VG
    4.4 mL of PG

That works if your doubler flavours are 80:20 PG:VG

Once you make up the 36mg nicotine liquid with the recipe above (you can make more than 10 mL, just multiply accordingly)
You can just top up the 5mL bottle with 5mL of your nicotine liquid.

Be sure to label all your bottles so you know what you have.. you don't want to add 100mg nicotine as a doubler by accident.

Your 5 mL of flavour doubler, will be 10 mL of flavoured eliquid which is 18mg/mL in a ratio of 80:20 PG:VG.
If you're confused about any of this.. please ask more questions. :)

But wouldn't that be too strong in terms of flavour, when it is meant to have an equal amount of nic put into it?

Phoenix, you can also throw in a bit of straight PG/VG if the flavour is too strong, once you add your nic. It will also give you a bit more juice, if you want to take it up to 10ml, which would mean you would be adding an extra 3ml of PG/VG in there.

If you are going to vape at 18mg, and have 100mg now, it would probably be a better idea to cut it first, and it will make mixing a bit easier. When I first started I bought 36mg and cut it in half. Then I realised the 100mg was cheaper, so bought that and simply cut it 1:5, so it gave me 20mg instead of 18mg. Just to keep it metric and easy.

    Hope this helps.

Just use this. It's easy as
    Filbert's Vaping Toolkit

click on the eliquid calculator. Enter the details you want (has the option about using doublers).

No Stoney not the designed strength, and no rules there are :)

I was just thinking it may have been a bit strong in flavour, tis all, and since Phoenix is a relative newbie and all....

And I see others also answered with the required info anyway

And you answered the question b.comtifully, I might add.

And enough sucking up..I do like that Filberts mixing calculator rogue has linked to.. very easy to follow, clean and neat layout..and has doublers and triplers...nice addition.

are you completely confused now phoenix?

a doubler is a flavour made at double strength and is designed to be mixed down to single strength with pg and/or vg.

pg (propolene glycol) and vg (vegetable glycerine) are unflavoured liquids that are used for vaping. pg gives more throat hit (th) and vg gives more vapour. vg is much thicker than pg. different people use different mixes of pg and vg. it takes a little time to work out what you like.

pure nic is 1000mg/ml or 100% (or close enough. it is not recommended to buy pure nic as it's very toxic and dangerous to handle). 100mg/ml is 10% nic mixed with 90% pg and/or vg. 18mg/ml, which is what you're looking at vaping, is 1.8% nic in your final juice mix.

if you want to mix your juice right now and don't have any plain pg or vg, you can get vg in the from of glycerol from the chemist or supermarket. if you end up with juice is mainly vg, it can be a bit thick to vape well in some devices. it can be thinned down with a couple of drops of vodka or distilled water.

i hope i haven't just confused you more. you got so many different answers here, so i thought i'd try and put what i see as the bare bones of things down, then you can work out the best way of doing it for yourself. good luck :)

    pretty confusing....

    Let me get this right:

I have a local vendor 10ml Doubler which is 70% PG 30% VG

    I also have 115ml HC Unflavored E-liquid 36mg PG base (75%PG+25%VG) from 115ml HC Unflavored E-liquid [Z8 HC Unflavored 115ml] - $11.99 : Healthcabin Electronic Cigarettes - Wholesale and Retail

I want to achieve an 18mg strength.

Do I just add 10ml of the 115ml HC Unflavored E-liquid 36mg PG base (75%PG+25%VG) to the doubler and we are good to go?

The confusing part is the doubler already has a PG/VG mix in it, so does the nicotine.

Someone please make it clear as daylight for me?...

    Many thanks

    Using the above ingredients.

To make 18mg ejuice, add to an empty 10mL bottle :

    5mL of 36mg/mL Nicotine
    5mL of Flavour Doubler

(given the PG/VG ratios you described, your final solution will be 72.5%PG/27.5%VG - which is a really nice mix btw)

    Using the above ingredients.

To make an 18mg nicotine ejuice, add to an empty 10mL bottle :

    1.8mL of 100mg/mL nicotine
2.2mL of PG (no nicotine, no flavour)
1.0mL of VG (no nicotine, no flavour)

    5mL Doubler (80%PG, 20%VG)
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    10mL Total

The final solution will be 18mg/mL nicotine, with a 80%PG/20%VG ratio. (assuming your 100mg/mL Nicotine is 100% PG)

The b.comty of 100mg/mL nicotine is that it's really easy to figure out how much to add.

If you like 18mg, you add 1.8mL for every 10mL mix.
If you like 14mg, you add 1.4mL for every 10mL mix.
If you like 10mg, you add 1.0mL for every 10mL mix.
If you like 20mg, you add 2.0mL for every 10mL mix.
If you like 24mg, you add 2.4mL for every 10mL mix.

    and so on.

For convenience, in future you might want to stick to using nicotine and doublers with 100%PG, that way you can control your PG/VG ratios to round figures.

    A typical doubler mix I use for clearomizers ;

    2mL Nicotine 100mg/mL PG100%
3mL VG (no flavour, no nicotine)
    5mL Doubler (PG100%)
    -------------------------------------------
    10mL Total

    Ejuice is 20mg/mL PG70%/VG30%

See how simple that mix is? I easily controlled the VG content to 30% (3mL to every 10mL mix).

People do there mixing in very different ways with a lot of different tools (pen paper or even a program)
but the out come is usually the same.
You just have to figure out what is best for you.
When I am dealing with doublers I make sure I have the double of nic strength like you I vape @18 so i have 36mg already at different levels of pg and vg (mostly vg).
but the tools I use is
E-Liquid Calculator | Vaping Cobra Blog
    but mainly use
eJuice Me Up - Best eJuice Calculator
    easy to use calculator

when i purchase 100mg nic I straight away cut it all down to 36mg (just makes my life a bit easier)

OH that's a good idea! Do you just transfer to another bottle and top up with VG and PG?
