She was looking a little krappy yesterday, dropped a few times, covered in oil & metal fillings from the workshop, leaking from a slightly cracked tank, Kraken brass patina'd to f*ck etc.
So I got out the ultrasonic cleaner last night, cleaned everything up, polished up all the brass, replaced the glass tank, rewicked & recoiled it & fitted the hybrid adaptor.
Looks 100% better than it did yesterday.

That's a cloned Kraken and Vapelyfe drip tip, no?

Top cap is clone, can't get a real kraken top cap in polished brass unfortunately.
& yeah, vapelyfe insulated drip tip - doesn't get hot when I got those .45ohm dual coils cranking.

If I could find some 'phantom brass' bar stock I'd machine up a top cap to match the stingray better, but I got NFI what the composition of phantom brass is other than it contains some alluminum along with copper & tin.
It doesn't patina like regular brass either & it seems a bit tougher, may be some chrome or moly in it too.

I love looking up things like Phantom bronze and all of the comments about what it is and the statements made by people without checking if what they are saying is true or just hearsay.
You even get great statements like this from the JD tech site " BODY – POLISHED "PHANTOM” BRASS (18350) better than regularbrass…better conductivity, color, texture. MADE OF ALUMINUM, COPPER, BRASS".

Brass or bronze is an alloy of copper and a range of different materials at different percentage levels depending on its application.

I would think that their Phantom Brass is Aluminum Bronze as the description fits with what I know about it. Aluminum bronze when polished is quite yellow compered to some of the other brasses/bronzes and is also quite tough due to its alloyed materials. is tarnish resistant and is readily available.

    No worries mate :)
Aluminum bronze and Phosphorus bronze are both available as bushes and bar stock from bearing suppliers as well as most machine stock suppliers like Bohler Uddeholm. I could be wrong on the color match as it is hard to tell from photos on the net. I have Aluminium bronze bar stock here but I don't have a stingray to compere.

Got my Hobo atty in the mail today from a machinist on Calivapers

Happy with it so far, some of the best flavour I've had and great airflow control as well. Extremely easy to build on.

Here's a link to the calivapers thread too for more photos... didn't feel like taking more than 1 for now

That's one interesting dripper. Definitely would like to see more pictures if you find the time. Can't quite wrap my head around how it all comes together.

Was sitting down so thought I may as well then haha. Here are a couple - the 510 connection fits through the outer wall/drip well then the copper ring screws underneath and is all sealed with o-rings. You clip the outer ring on top of the main cap and you can adjust the upper airflow. Bit of a different design but it works surprisingly well, the airflow holes are positioned pretty high so you don't really get any leaking

Retired the kayfun lite as the out of the house rba - First build on the Eviva and i am in love. Easy build - no leaks - no dry hits - way better flavour than the kayfun. First build as well.

all up 97mm on the Rider mod (without drip tip) in 18500 mode. Great portable mod.
