I think you're technically not allowed to sell anything someone ingests without a permit in most modern places. Like even lemonade stands have to be in check, too much risk involved for any old idiot to sell things to strangers
These days I think that some laws go a bit to far, your example of the lemonade being one of them. So your kids can't make their own lemonade and sell it out the front of the house anymore like they used to unless they've got a certificate and licensing from the food standards agency. Slightly pathetic don't you think? That being said though, I think home made vape liquid could be a lot more harmful so I do see why that's going to be restricted a lot more.
Yep, that is true, when we have smokes cigarettes, I doubt that there is something worse. At the same time producing our own juice seems something somewhat risky.
Nobody is going to purposely make liquids that are bad for people I wouldn't have thought, but if you're not 100% on what your doing there could be that risk. If somebody falls ill though off one of your home made liquids, it won't matter if you meant to do it or not, you'll still be in a lot of trouble.
Pretty much, we can make them at our own risk and vape them, but make them available to others is more dangerous and illegal I believe.
That sounds about right. Anytime you sell an indigestible product, there has to be some permits that are required. Those that handle food need a food handling certificate to work. I would imagine you need something similar for manufacturing and selling vape juices.
You really have to know what you are doing to make e-juices. You only need a handful of ingredients to make the juices, but the process of making it isn't very easy. I would definitely be afraid to sell them.
If you get sick taking your own stuff, all you are hurting is yourself. Once you start selling your stuff, you open up a can of worms. You could certainly get charged for selling a product that harmed someone.
If we get sick by making it, we go to the hospital, if we make other people sick, we might go to prison.
Well, I don't know exactly. Anyway, you should be honest with your customers in the first place. They should know it's a homemade product.
There's a lot of mininformation in this thread and a lot of guessing. This just reflects how few clear regulations exist currently. The FDA does not currently regulate eliquid, although some manufacturers work in an FDA-certified lab which provides trust for their consumers. I know of many vape companies that started operation like your friend. I wouldn't even touch the issue of how legal it is, but there are a lot of businesses out there doing it with seemingly little interference. It all depends on how comfortable your friend is with risk.
It might be that or it might simply reflect the fact that we don't know what the rules are. I say it's illegal of course.
