As we've all said I think it is just common sense that if we do want to carry a spare then we take the necessary precautions as we would with any other kind of battery.

We can all go on YouTube and see videos if batteries exploding, but we don't know the circumstances that's happened, and I doubt that a battery as ever just exploded just for no reason at all.

A battery is accumulate energy, chemicals and so on, so why on earth would we carry that in the pocket. In contact with keys or other materials the reactions would be unpredictable.

I sort of understand why people would do that, after all a battery doesn't look that dangerous, if it was coated with spikes and poisonous darts people would be more careful. Even a battery that doesn't have a charge can be dangerous.

Yep, that is true, it doesn't look dangerous, but it's dangerous indeed. It's one of those obvious things that we should not do, but some always end up doing it.

I have carried batteries in my pocket with no issues. I'm pretty sure I've had the battery in the same pocket with keys and have had no issues. I will definitely keep that in mind now when I carry around a spare battery.

OK, so I believe you have been lucky because that could have gotten a bad result. The batteries you were carrying had no protection?

You must be very brave to put a battery in your pocket with no kind of protection!! Depending which battery you have, if metal comes into contact with each side these things have been known to go off like a hand granade!

You can buy a plastic case online which stores two batteries in it safely and they cost peanuts to buy. I have mine in the case all the time, that way you have spare batteries with you and it is safe to do so, I would not take the risk of being injured because I have not stored my batteries properly!

Sometimes something that seems insignificant like a battery case can make all the difference. Most people would never think of using one and run the risk of having a very unpleasant surprise.

Good point, it would actually create a scurt circuit, and if it doesn't blow up, it'll still burn your skin along with your jeans for sure. However I have a pocket specially designed only for the battery as I was long aware of this fact, if you simply pay attention, you can carry the battery along with you.

Blowing up would be something rare I think, either cases it's definitely not worth the risk as the batteries are not prepared to be transported like that.

Wow! Interesting fact. I never thought about this but this can happen. Thank you very much for the information. I will be careful.

I agree with the fact that this is rare but the danger would still be there. Batteries should be carried in the original packets.

Yep, pretty much. I think it would be an interesting business idea to create cases for batteries as that will be a necessity more and more.

You must be kinda out of your mind to save a battery in your pocket when you could actually carry a special case for vaper tools/accesories, I would never save batteries in my pocket neither my keys, that is a dangerous thing that could generate you some damage and that will be really bad, so my opinion is that you definitely should not carry batteries in your pockets, of any kind, yo ujust must not.

I would throw batteries into a fire all the time. It was like a cheaper version of a firecracker when I was a kid.

Wow! Thanks for the tip, I had no idea. Besides ruining your battery can this have any other effects? Could it possibly electrocute you? Or cause a fire in your pocket. I don't usually carry batteries in my pocket but i'll keep this in mind. Thanks again! :)

I've seen way too many bad things happen with cheap e cig batteries (usually made in China). One of those cases was when a guy put his pen in to his pocket and walked in to a gas station, the pen then proceeded to explode which could've caused a disaster in such an area. It scared me for a long time, and I always make sure to buy official batteries and not cheap out and buy the terrible quality ones.

Moral of the story is: Don't buy shit just because it's cheap.

I think that electrocuting is out of the question lol, but we can get a serious burning I believe, it has happened in the past. A good tip yes.

It does seem like a concerning issue to me but I haven't heard of such accidents happening, eitherway why take a chance.
