Nobody vapes in Dominican....

It could just have a lot to do with where people feel comfortable doing it.

 

Are there many places where you can even buy vaporizers? How cheap is a pack of cigarettes there? It might actually be cheaper to buy cigarettes there and the health effects may not be as well known there.

 

As I see, you're not from that country. So, don't worry much. It's their business. Just let them suffer If they are willing to do so by tolerating smoke for so long and not seeing the alternative.

 

Well I think that there really is a cultural element at work when it comes to vaping, and so maybe it just hasn't quite reached over there yet. It makes me curious as to where else it is popular and where it is not. I am guessing that many places in Europe it is popular and maybe that is it, but I could be wrong. Give it a couple of years and maybe you will start seeing it a lot more in places that might surprise you.

 

There must be at least one vaper somewhere. They are probably lurking in the shadows!

Thanks for the info, this gave me an idea, next time I go on holiday I will only carry a disposable e-cigarette in my hand luggage and take my mod in my other luggage.

 

Wow, that's so ridiculous. It's one thing to forbid it and another thing to seize it. It obviously and clearly is not a risk, but hey, money talks. They might be to rural for the local farmers to be able to handle the profit loss, so I suppose that's worth considering. Still sucks to lose the 'boid

 

Wow, I can't believe they did that. So they aren't taking it lightly. I mean honestly what do they think you are going to do with it and how on earth would you get into the cargo bay?

 

Aw, that's too bad. Even from where I am, there's not a lot of vapers around here. But yeah, you can see smokers in every corner and place. It's such a shame that not a lot of people know about vaping and its benefits. Thank you for the heads up though it's unlikely that I'd get to visit Dominican in the near future.

And that's weird as well, that they confiscated your vape as you're going home. I've not had much problem when we're traveling in Asian countries, they don't mind my vape so much. I don't know if it's because it's more widely accepted here though. I'd rather that more institutions and establishments recognise vapes and vapers though since it has put many people in a lot of hassle already.

 

That`s really weird. I would have thought vaping has gone global by now.

 

Either that, or OP simply ran into lots of people who weren't actually interested in vaping, maybe he was simply bad lucky or vaping is kind of taboo there, either way if it's legal keep vaping my friend, probably they'll take your example. In a few years vapers will dominate the world.

 

Yeah, that is a bummer that vaping isn't big there, but that's definitely not a deal breaker for me. Surely, vaping will grow there, but if not, it's still an awesome place to visit. Does anyone know if vaping is non-existent as well in other Caribbean islands?

 

The problem might be that the government is locking down on security measures. They probably are going through court with legalizing vapes on airplanes.
