A different perspective I hadn't heard before. From a smoker.

Yeah, it would seem like Fred is not yet ready to give up smoking cigarettes. Despite all the advantages of vaping like its health benefits, financial benefits... He still cannot accept the fact that it is indeed better than smoking. And although you have given him the facts, for a person that isn't open-minded yet or willing to listen to others, nothing can change his mind.

I'm just very proud that you are able to stick to vaping. I mean, you have defended your case and did not let their smoking get to you. I really admire you for that. Some people would have given up easily and would have smoked cigarettes instead. We really are very lucky to have discovered vaping and its numerous benefits. I just hope many more people realise this as well.

Don't get me wrong, everyone would smoke if it didn't cause cancer but sadly it does. Anyone that denies that is wrong. I think it is also very irresponsible of your friend on his part to not want to quit because of vaping being a mere 'substitute'. It is a very expensive and damaging habit that shouldn't be started in the first place, but all of us here were silly enough to 'have just one'. I'm in 1 and 2 as I can't really afford to smoke and I also have a health condition meaning that smoking is definitely not helping. I hope vaping can help me quit!

To some people, money will never be an incentive to try vaping. We all do it for different reasons, and when the time is right for us to change. My son had been nagging me for a long time to try vaping before I actually gave it a go. It may have taken me well over a year after he first suggested it, but the seed was planted. The more I heard other success stories, and the more information I gleaned, the more interested I became. You've planted the seed - it may or may not grow, but at least he has something to think about and consider.

I don't understand why he doesn't want to switch to vaping. It's cheaper and safer. Yes, we are substituting one thing for another, and it's a better one. I just don't understand why your friend reacted like that. Well, we all have the freedom to make choices.

It is interesting. But yes it is your decision mainly.

I like how people always want to be smarter than you, like if they know better.

This is why I'm starting to reconsider my actions when it comes to vaping. I enjoy it, and have done for two years now, but I don't want to vape forever. I want a nice experience with no leaking and a throat hit, but other than that, I do want to quit. I find it hard to see myself not using nicotine a year from now, if I were to start working off the nicotine levels.

Thing is, a lot of people go down to 0mg juices, but I don't really want to be doing that, because at that point it'd really just be spending money unnecessarily. That being said, you are right when you say that you're not getting anywhere near as much harm from your e-cig than you are from smoking real cigarettes. It blows my mind that people genuinely don't get the purpose of e-cigs.
