I know some people try to gradually taper themselves off while vaping. Are you trying to lower your dose over time, or do you plan to continue vaping at a steady level?

Personally my vaping is at a low enough level that I have no plans to stop or reduce my intake.

I have started with 18mg now down to 9mg in 6 months, I think I am doing good.

I have started with 12mg when switched to vaping, after about 2 months on 12mg I tried to lower nic to 6mg, but noticed that on 6mg i was chainvaping so had to increase to 9mg. Have been sitting at 9mg for 2 months now. Still thinking of lowering to 6mg and once in a while I just buy 6mg juice. So far so good.

When I first started, I was vaping with nicotine content in it. I was able to gradually limit my nicotine intake until I am able to completely stop it. Now, I vape nicotine free which is an achievement I am quite proud of. Imagine, quitting cigarettes and now actually quitting nicotine! And it's all because of a nifty device which I didn't even think can be the solution to my problem. I have never looked back since then.:)

I currently have an 11mg vape (tobacco flavour) and it doesn't seem enough. I'm looking into a proper vaporiser however as this is a cigarette like vape.

Yes, I am trying to lower it, and I think that this is something that people should do - as the aim is to get off it entirely eventually, isn't it. I know that when I first started trying to reduce it, I did it far too quickly, and just ended up vaping more of the lower mg juice rather than actually cutting down - so now I am doing it more gradually and have definitely noticed better results from doing so, so this is what I would recommend to anybody if you are trying to cut down with the view to stopping completely eventually.

I don't think I want to completely remove nic from my vape. I like to have that head-rush you get from nic, specially in the morning with coffee. That is the best feeling ever and I am not ready to give that up.

I tapered myself off the first time I started vaping, before my pen died. I am currently at a 24mg (crazy high for me, but I vape less often) and intend on dropping lower and lower, until I no longer feel the need to have it with me. Dropping to 18mg next week.

Good luck on your goal! I'm sure you can gradually taper it until you won't be needing the nicotine anymore. At least that's what happened to me. But I hope that's what also happens to your journey. Just quitting cigarettes is a huge achievement, imagine that! And quitting nicotine completely, that's another great achievement! Just take each day as it is and don't stress out though. Take care!

That is my objective, I know that you have to pace yourself, but eventually I want to go nicotine free. I don't know how long it will take I have seen people talk about different lengths of time.

I had no idea what to level of nicotine to start at when I first started vaping, so I chose 12mg. On reflection I probably should have chosen a slightly higher strength as I did find myself suffering from slight withdrawal symptoms for a while. After about a month at that level I began to get used to it and vaped less, now, after 3 months, I'm quite comfortable at that level. Eventually I will begin to wean myself off nicotine by buying juice with a lower amount of nicotine but for now I'm quite happy.

I did sort of a hybrid taper, where I had access to higher and lower nicotine. It kept me from ever, ever being deprived but also gave me the chance to practice lower nicotine days and get through the withdrawal in ways that made more sense. I had a very easy time once I was over the initial hill (hell) that was cutting back all the extra cigs, but now the idea of smoking one makes me wanna vomit...

Yep, I'm trying. I guess, would be using nicotine-free stuff by the end of this summer. Or, maybe, even a bit earlier. Every month I reduce by 0.5mg. It's been a long road. However, I already can see the view of the final stop.

    Yes, I'm trying as well.

Slowly, but definitely surely. It was a bit difficult at first, but the cough got to me and naturally I had to decrease a bit more at the time. From then on, every next new batch of purchase, I aim for lower and lower.

While I do think that people should try and decrease their level of nicotine the longer they vape, at the same time it's purely up to them and I don't think they should be put under any pressure to do so if they don't want to.

I've only been vaping for a couple of months now after finally agreeing to try and quit smoking. I'm happy enough at the moment with the decision but already I'm now being pressured into lowering the nicotine down aswell, and I just get the impression that the general public will never be happy with anything.

Everyone in the world could quit smoking and vaping, and you'd then get people complaining about something else that's wrong and criticising others for different reasons.

Sure, I think that's why the popularity of vaping is increasing in the first place, to get people away from nicotine. It's good way to ween off those struggling with addictions.

It seems like it's the right amount of time, I also plan on being nicotine free by that time. If I can hopefully sooner then that.

I hope we will achieve this together, buddy! Nicotine has been taking its toll on us for so goddamn long. It's time to break free, finally.

I chose to vape over smoking primarily because I wanted to stop being addicted to nicotine. Yes, I am planning to lower down my nicotine level and hope that one day I will vape with 0 nicotine. I know I can do this!
