What do you guys think of this article? Personally I agree with it, as I think airplanes are enclosed places where everyone is tightly packed against each other, and the smoke resulted from vaping might bother the other passengers.

    Heres the article: http://www.digitaltrends.com/cool-tech/vaping-banned-on-planes/

Even if it's not actual smoke, it might mess with someone psychologically, so yeah, it might be wise not to smoke on planes as we don't want people to freak out. At the same time it's just water, so no harm done really.

I think this is just a necessary protocol. You're in the sky, you can't just open a window. It opens this massive can of worms to have people in that type of situation having an electrical mechanism and blowing smoke out of it, obvious security/health flaw there

I agree that is to make things standard, at the same time we are talking about water, so there is really no need to open a window because there is no smell or harmful substances to other people. I guess it's because of the psychological sight of the smoke.

I think that it is a great idea. I know that vapour isn't as harmful as smoke, but the research is still limited, plus there are a lot of people who have respiratory conditions who could still be made unwell from the vapour. In addition to this, people need to make it less accessible so that people don't turn to vaping as a social thing. It shouldn't be allowed anywhere that smoking isn't allowed, because the aim is to cut back, not make more people able to do it.

I would like to hear the arguments against this ban. I am all for personal freedoms and all of that, but on a plane I think it is safe to say that common good rules supreme and that we do not want a plane full of smoke. I think that it is really funny that you used to be able to smoke on planes...that just seems odd to me. I think that this is just a common sense law that should be in place.

That is the issue right there, most likely there are no real arguments. Or eventually some researches funded by the competition saying that vaping is really bad. Some scientific basis there I ask?

I would have to agree. I still find myself moving to the side of a building, away from the main flow of traffic to avoid the possibility of offending someone. I don't think vaping should be allowed on planes, because even some scents could trigger an allergic reaction. I work with scent sensitive people so I already have to be careful with sprays and scents. I couldn't imagine a plane full of vape scents (even though it would be very pleasant).

I believe that our freedom ends when the freedom from others begins, either cases I don't see that vaping is harmful at all, unless it some minor scent or visually.

Like somebody has written before, don't be that guy who can't even survive a flight with no vaping. Of course, there are some longer flights and sure it will be uneasy. However, take it as a one more challenge.

True, we can also see it under that perspective, I mean, if we have quit cigarettes we can certainly handle a few hours without vaping right?

I think this is a terrible knee-jerk reaction. Why is alcohol still not barred from airlines? Personally, I would much rather sit next to a sober vaper, than a drunk reeking of whiskey. If you are going to bring in a ban on something, then do it for the right reasons, but most of all, don't penalise one section of society, when you allow others to do things that are far worse.

That is correct and should happen in an ideal world @SCSullivan, but the issue is that lobbies rule this world and when money is involved what is logic doesn't go ahead. Ban alcohol? LOL, that will never happen.

Well, the consumption of alcohol doesn't affect the air in any way. Except for the unpleasant smell from those overly drunk guys. I guess those who accepted that regulation were partially guided by that mentality.

By the way, I think vaping in the bathroom should be tolerated. Even though vaping is banned on flights. First, it has nothing to do with smoking. Second, bathroom is not the place where it usually smells good. So, if you use a flavored stuff... you're doing a good deed, for sure.

    THIS.

Another thing to note is the fact that there may be children, elderly and those who have respiratory conditions around that may be affected by the vapor. It isn't really final that e-cig vapors are totally safe -and I highly doubt it is since it still contains (dangerous) chemicals (although many stuffs do, too...)
