Well I just wanted to let everyone know some good news, and I think that we can all use a little bit of that. I was just going though some of my finances and was trying to figure out how much money I have saved since I have quit smoking and made the switch to e-cigs and it is looking like it comes out to about one hundred dollars a month, and that certainly adds up and makes me happy. Just thought I would share that little piece of good news I discovered today.

My savings are quite small, but it's still nice to have a bit extra each month. I'm not currently spending it on anything in particular, but everything helps. I want to build a bigger safety net, and I'm achieving that goal faster because of this.

Financial motivation is one of the main reasons why people stop smoking so in turn, that's also a reason they'll turn to vaping aswell.

The initial cost of starting to vspe instead of smoke might originally seem a lot, but you'll save that amount land even more in the first month so don't let that put you off making the switch.

Oh my goodness, my husband spends a lot of money for his daily pack or two of cigarettes. On the other hand, since I switched to vaping, I've saved at least half of what you're saving (since cigarettes here are quite cheaper). Anyway, it's such a great feeling knowing that I'm able to cut my expenses in half all because I switched to a healthier option. I have definitely helped my health and now, I've also helped save up some money for the family. I love it!

The amount you save after you've originally bought your vaping gear does come as quite a surprise, well...it did to me anyway. My problem is that I've never been that great at saving do most of what I have saved by switching to vaping I've spent on other things already!

The way I look at it though, is that at least I'm now enjoying that extra money instead of wasting it on cigarettes.

Now that I have bought all the gear I really need, I DIY my ejuice and pay pennies for ml's. I don't even count how much I spend on eliquid anymore its rather insignificant, probably around 50 dollars a month.

Me and my fiance have saved a lot since switching. I know that at first when we switched from cigarettes to vapes that it was pretty expensive to start out, but we have definitely got our money back just within about six months of switching.
Not to mention we enjoy knowing that it's not as bad for you and honestly a lot more convenient.

lets say you were in your mid 30's, thats 1200 dollars a year your saving approximately. since life expectancy is about 80 years old, if you were 35 and lived to the age of 80, you'd have saved 54,000 dollars. that can buy you a lot of nice stuff! well done on quitting too!

Money is a huge incentive and I remember seeing a documentary about people who smoked and just how much they've spent in their lifetime.

Some of them who had been smoking since their early teens but was now in their 40's and spent like nearly a quarter of a million dollars just on cigarettes alone! I'm not saying that's the same for everyone as these were extreme cases, but it certainly makes you think!

Not to mention the increasing tax hikes on tobacco products, especially here in Canada. My brother is paying more for a discount brand of 20 cigarettes then I used to pay for a 25 pack of the most expensive cigarettes a little more than 5 years ago.

That is one of the reasons I started vaping along with the improved health that I saw people having. I have just started but really hope I get the hang of it soon. I can see myself saving a pretty penny.

That's awesome! I can't wait to see how much money I have a the end of every month, and then when I get my wife to quit smoking and have her join the vape family, we'll be able to get so caught up. You don't realize how much you spend since it's $5 here, $5 there.... well, $5 a day is about $150 a month and that's what we usually spend, if not more. I'm looking at some sites now where I can get her a good starter mod, possibly a 2 for 1 deal since I could use something other than this E-Go vape pen. Congrats on your savings! Such great news and very inspiring.

The price increases are the main thing I think that puts people off smoking, more than the health reasons.

By switching to vaping, not only are they healthier, you also save money aswell so vaping is the better option alround, no matter which way you look at it.

It's definitely fun to know that you're saving up some money all because you switched to vaping! But with regards to your case, at least you did not spend the money on cigarettes! And that's quite good as well, using your saved up money for more important things like... well for me, it has to be clothes and make-up, lol! Just kidding! But yeah, we're enjoying eating out nowadays and we have the extra money for that now!

I think as long as your getting some enjoyment out of it then that's the main thing. There's no point saving money money on cigarettes by switching to vaping, only then yo go and blow it on beer or other drugs though, because I've known people do that aswell.

Grats! I am probably in the 2 grand+ club at this stage of the game between how often I smoked, let friends have smokes, lost or misplaced packs, etc. There's no way to financially justify spending your money on cigarettes once you see how intense the savings can get, especially if ya really need the money

That's pretty great dude, congrats! It's good to be saving money while you're being more healthy. It's not like the savings will make you a millionaire, but 100 bucks is 100 bucks! Definitely useful. I like what abovethesmoke said about giving cigs away or losing and misplacing packs. It adds up more than we'd care to think. So generally no one thinks about it.

It's funny how you mention that saving the money won't make you a millionaire, but if you take it to the extreme you'd be half way to being one!

The price of 20 cigarettes here in the UK is about £8. If you smoke 40 a day from when you are 16 to when you die at 96 call it, that's a hell of a lot of money you'll have spent just on the cigarettes alone...around half a million pound!

That's fine. However, at the age of 80 the excessive amount of money is certainly not on the top of a wishlist. If you're not broke, of course.
