I thought the Joyetech 18650 mod had two settings - regulated at 3.3v and unregulated (battery voltage)

    i thought that too,think it was a version 2 thing though ??

if you do decide to do that ?? probably going to want to use a wire 1-2 sizes bigger

exodus , this mod dose have two mods, they both suck, for having a 18650 bat,it dos'nt put out that much power, it"s not as good as a vision spinner set at 3.8 volts,IMO just a peace 0f junk, that why i would to make it in to a machinical type mod seeing I alrwady have the tube and spare head for it. if I brake the head not a big loss..

The trick is going to be finding a switch that will take the amps that fits. You need something that can take 2.5 amps. Those little 150 milliamp tactile switches won't work unless you can manage to cram a MOSFET in there.

Dennis, have you tried a regular 18650 mod (other than this one)? I think they suck anyway unless you have a super low ohm atomizer or cartomizer.
On a regular 18650 mechanical mod, the battery voltage drops as soon as you hit the button, and it keeps getting worse through the whole charge. And unless you've got a high drain 18650, the voltage can drop like a rock.
Regulated mods (like your spinner) will give you the same hit every time until the battery is dead.

If it were me, I'd probably just sell the joyetech one and then try something else. I think you're on the right track with the spinner, just maybe get another VV/VW mod that you really want?

To replace the switch in that joye will likely be a pain in the ass because of fitment (it has to fit almost perfect to work right, and it will need to be wired/soldered in).

I wouldn't say mechanical mods suck like kilgoretrout, but what he says about them in regards to the voltage dropping throughout your entire battery charge is correct. What you probably want is something regulated/VV.

I'm not 100% positive, but I think you can get a replacement head that will actually let you switch voltages. You can't fine tune it, but it has like 3 or 4 different voltage settings. Or it might have been a completely different mod altogether.

What you absolutely CAN do, though, is buy an evic control head(evic is the new VV mod that came out from joyetech fairly recently) and put it on your 18650 tube. They are compatible. So I'm not sure what just an evic head costs, but it would be cheaper than buying a new mod altogether.
