Well the 500 arrived today, and well, it's fucking insane!
Check out the capillary action in the vid below. I could've ran the whole tank vertically.
70mm rolled into the line, 50/50 PG/VG, kicked at 9.3 watts

What grade mesh are you using B874 and what size are you cutting the wick?

Using 400 cut 40x30 I think it is the rolling of the wick that let me down this time I did the fold at the start but think I rolled the wrong way so the wick was not straight so the coils were unconnected if that makes sense.

I just need more practice at the whole thing. Ill just keep trying might have to use the shit juice to practice not my best stuff...

How do I change juice BTW?

I'm not sure of the exact size of the wick hole in the did, but I know it's quite big. Try 100mm x 30mm. Basically roll as much mesh as you can into that hole.
To change juice, do you mean clean to change flavours? If so I just fill my gennies with water and then drain them upside down.

The mesh companies actually moving their vaping stuff to the site I posted above. We've pushed them to expand:)

note for anyone using mesh, I have found it is far easier to handle accurately by cutting with a ruler and a stanley knife, hardly any pressure is needed. much easier than scissors.
I use the ruler to hold it flat, let about 5mm far side of the ruler and cut on the near side to get a nice 30mm wide strip.

Last night I was mucking around with the DIDnt and made up a solid wick out of 200 mesh, just to see what it was like. One thing I noticed when burning off juice from the wick whilst oxidising was that it burned for a lot longer than 400 mesh would have. I set up the atty with some 28 .comge and was pretty impressed with the vape. The flavour seems to be alot more intense with the 200 mesh than it does with the 400 mesh, also the vape seemed alot warmer than the 400 with the same res coil. It also appears to wick very well, not as fast as the 400 mesh but stays wetter for longer.

I've drilled a 4mm wick hole in the didn't and the mesh I used would have been approx 100mm long, juice was DK-TAB.

Going to have a bit more of a play with the 200 mesh in the real DID and see what it's like in that.

Has anyone else played with different mesh other than the often recommended 400 or 325?

  19. I've been playing with the #325 at 80~to100 mm long and rolling as tight as I can (I call it my Sarah Lee method)
I always oxidize flat before I roll, both sides and only once, after I roll I heat again and roll again just to get any edges down flat.
I then set the wick and make sure there is space down the sides (that's where the air goes back into the tank!)
Coil to desired ohms, usually 3/4 and dry test to make sure all the coils are glowing evenly, fiddle until they do glow evenly.
Fill and watch as the juice flows up the wick, I never have to tip to get the wick moist!
Set to desired volts and vape!
