    Hello peoples!
I just received a Don, but the spring is buggered. I'm not even going to bother asking if anyone has any spares, I was hoping someone might be able to recommend where I can buy springs in Melbourne? I've already tried Jaycar.
Also, what type of metal is best suited?

Try a spring out of a torch maybe.

Yea I've been using one from a pen. It's a little flimsy though. I'll just have to keep looking for the perfect spring.
    Cheers guys!

Can you give us some detail on the size? Is it for the switch(button)?

Maybe you could use a ProVari spring, or at least mod it to fit?
    Another alternative is magnets.

    Hey Kritikal, it's me Lungy.
I've started a new account as I'm better know as Larry Backsplash on the international forums and couldn't change my user name.
I don't know the exact size as I threw the other one away. It's about 2cm in length with a 3-4mm diameter. I've just picked up an aluminium don which is coming over from England, so when that arrives I'll have a better idea. I've got the SS going nicely today with another pen spring which I cut a little shorter to about 1.5cm. The prob with the pen springs is they're low tensile.
    Thanks for your response..

I know you! :) Well not know you but I know of you. ;)

If you could get hold of a ProVari spring easy enough, it might do the job. It's 5mm outer diameter at the top with a 4mm smallest inner diameter. It's widest point is 8mm and it's about 16mm long. If you have a pair of pliers you could stretch it out to 2cm and it would give you the perfect tension.

supercheap.comto sell a spring kit with many around that size for $20 i think, I saw the same kit somewhere else for less but I can't remember where .. it may have been 'trade tools' i think.
our local 'allied bearings'and also 'nuts and bolts' store have display things with spring assortments on them.
these are all mechanical type springs so some are incredibly high spring constants but not sure of conductivity. get into the.comto places anyway for a look.

Okay, I wasn't sure if the spring sits in the switch assembly but now I know.
    A ProVari spring won't fit then. :)

    Hey guys!
Sorry about the delay, I forgot to subscribe to the thread and just noticed your responses..comto springs might be the go. Once the Ally arrives I'll have something to compare too.

    Much appreciated!
