If you had the opportunity to influence a mod-maker, what would you want in a mod?

Me, I'd want the smallest form factor possible with at the minimum, an 18350 battery with an electronics module providing variable voltage between 3.3 and 4.2V However, a smaller battery would be acceptable if the battery is quick change ie snap-in. For instance, this could also be 2x 10440 in parallel to provide capacity in a small form.

The module would not need to have any visual feedback ie a screen provided it had a tricolour LED to indicate charge state. Green for >30% charge, orange for 10%-30% charge and red for

I have very little use for VV. I am easy to please.

Just need one with homing instincts, that will always find it way back to my desk, from wherever I leave it.

Something small, totally drop proof, vv, has a clearomizer that wont leak, has a led display for battery life and homing instincts would be a plus.

True, but if you were a mod-maker trying to sell to the public, you probably need to offer VV. OTOH, I've just bought a mech mod (which obviously isn't VV) and I'll see how the DID goes on that. And it's shiny ... I've a feeling it'll be good.

so if you had a small hand held doohickey that could track a mod emitting an RF signal when lost .. this would be a good thing ?

    lol

@GT .. why would you not want the ability to change voltage on the go if it was available ?

that seems a very basic requirement of a VV device to me.
I guess what you want is a PVPV .. programmable voltage PV.

    FYI ..
I have programmed a method previously that a triple press allows increasing or decreasing the voltage and the ability to test vape at that voltage .. with a single button using a tricolour LED for feedback. including a voltage display.
    It works quite well.

Too many buttons. What I am thinking is a minimalistic PVPV :) Just a fire button and a LED to indicate SOC, with quick change batteries (in a Stoney 3D printed case :) )

Reread, sorry I misinterpreted it  That sounds good Stoney :)

I find that I don't change voltage once I have it set so that isn't a biggy for me, however, if you can do it without adding extra size then why not?

Just read it, sounds really easy and intuitive. Well thought through - great stuff mate :)

Is it too early for a list :) :) (Yeah, I know you're waiting for the 3D printer)

What would the form factor be? Suitable for a round tube, or box mod only? Once you finish with your tester, will you start on these or wait for your 3D printer and release as a mod and also seperately as a module?

    Great stuff :)

that design is not really suited to a tube mod .. parallel batts..
i considered dual 14500 but woeful current, so dual 18500 i think minimum

Or those flat phone batteries that Rob is fond of. But the C rate on those might be suss. The Turnigy's that Breaktru usually uses would certainly handle the C rate though.

But dual 18500's would be ok too!

And the feature description you've sent me along with protection sounds ideal for a box mod which I think would have wide appeal, at least with those that are comfortable with box mods.

I'd like something bulletproof and waterproof. A tube mod, not box. 3 different sized tube adaptors for say 18350,18500 and 18650. A threaded top section similar to ego for an optional cone/protector thingy to save carto's atties and maybe even tanks from breaking off when you stack it.

1 button, no display, say 3 voltage settings eg 3.7,4.2 and 4.6

Ability to check approx battery level, say click 5 times and a tricolour led shows low,Med,high

Maybe also a quick resistance checker again showing low,Med,high on the led but less important than battery charge
