    Alright!

Just finished my first voltage tester which is a bit of achievement in itself seeing im not the most handy person in the world.

Had plenty of challenges but managed to get it done in about 2 hours or so. Learnt a few lessons like a 2$ hot glue gun doesnt go too well

Definitely not as pretty as i had planned but it works, and it small so that's 2/3 meeting the right criteria!

Nothing on what stoney could whip up though ;d

    Yes nice and handy.

I have a handfull of the little readouts from DX, so glad to find a use for them. Just wish I could figure out what the other pins are for!!! Anybody??

    other batterys ..
I think .. never played with one, that they will display the voltage on each battery in a series pack.

    Thank for that Stoney.

I will give it a try. I guess one of them must be common?? I did give them a poke, but never managed to get anything. I can only get the two pins to speak to me!!!

this thread here the guy seems to believe 2S-6S is all positive

    2 x ?? about LED volt displays. t5467.

To use the other pins i guess you would need a common negative? hows that going to work with batteries?

all .. in .. series. one ground, 4v,8v,12v,16v.. taps.

think of an RC pack for a helicopter for eg, for a 3S pack it has 4 pin connector fitted for balance charging. I inaginr the pinout matches that for the voltage testerers.

Pinout does match. I have 3S, 6S and 8S ones (which I use for my electric bike LiPos)

lol, that looks like utter crap :)
kudos for all the switches tho. i bet its a mess inside ;)
ohm meters all work much the same way, apply a known current and display the voltage.
most cheapie ohm meters use around a mA or so.
better to use a bit higher current with low ohm though to get the voltage in a more useable range.
