I have a Soshine SC-S2 li-ion rapid charger and it's never made so much as a peep but I have heard of other chargers that will hum almost imperceptibly while charging, not sure I've heard of a whistle before though. I'd probably only worry if the sound was aggressive or seemed to "build" in volume or pitch. Perhaps don't leave it charging near small children or other expensive things just in case? ;-)

My Trustfire makes a high pitched noise. Think its normal for them.

+1 High pitched noise. Disconcerting but it works. I also don't leave it unattended. Scared me the first time I used it though.

I get the same thing, and it gets worse with two batteries plugged in at the same time. Just keep them pointed away from your face in case they you know, explode, like that e-cig. :)

    Using trustfire 18650 batts+trustfire charger.

Worst part is, sometimes at night I can't tell if it's a mosquito or my charger.. fml.

its got a switch mode power supply that works at high frequencys, thats probably i.comdible though .. above hearing range, what is probably happening is the regulation for the switch mode it turning on and off at.comdible rates. its basically a magnetic-acoustic thing, basically the wire in coils moving a tiny amount as currents are turned on and off and the coils attract and repel each other.

its common enough and of no concern .. heres an article for eg IEEE Xplore - Methods of reducing.comdible noise .comsed by magnetic components in variable-frequency-controlled switch-mode converters

+1 the Soshine SC S1 Mix v3...costs a little more but is well worth it.....charges many sized batteries and can be used in the car as well

Sent from my personal Enigma code breaker borrowed from the 3rd Reich in 1943 and never returned(looks over shoulder to see if the SS is creeping up behind him)

I think its the noise of the electrical current (i know it sounds stupid)

If you listen, most electrical appliances have some sort of slight humming noise. A lot of the higher end appliances won't have that noise so i wouldn't be surprised if the cheaper china made chargers make this noise. I know my trust fire makes a dim humming while my trust fire mini charger hums a loud tune lol.

I have left them un attended without much worry.

Hope this helps put your mind at ease. Just make sure the charger has a cut off ability
