So I just picked up a cheap bbq lighter on sale at woolies... just to rip the gooseneck out of it. I'll be attempting to wire up 510 connectors at both ends and seal up with shrink tubing :)

I'll update with my progress, successes or failures heheh it was only $7

Okay the first thing I've had to do is get the gooseneck out of the BBQ lighter, easy enough actually, the ends it was glued into were just chromed plastic and the small snippers made short work of it without any damage to the gooseneck part. :) So far so good!

The DIY atomizer and battery connector I have will fit perfectly, I just want to get a small bit of silicone tubing to shield the center wire from any possible shorting, the gooseneck *just* squeezes into the atty connector end and will be a cinch to bond into place after I have the wires attached and the silicon tubing in place. I'll use epoxy putty most likely so it's nice and strong and cover the joint up with some heat shrink tubing which I'll have to get, the bit I have is too small but jaycar has plenty, I can probably pick and choose the colour.

When I'm finished I should have a fully functional gooseneck measuring just under 11cm. Fun times!

    I'd buy one for sure!

Minor discovery, a 510 shorty extension from MadVapes will nearly thread over the end of the gooseneck. If I could just find a roll of gooseneck material I would totally make heaps. I have to get the dremel out and trim up one end of the gooseneck be.comse it's a bit spread so won't quite make it inside the shorty adapter.

For the female end I can use the silicone plug out of a carto, I have literally dozens and dozens of the things haha no short gonna be possible at that end. I think it might work for the male end too if I use my one and only 510 shorty extension. haha more should be easy enough to get. It's a very nice adapter actually, I almost wish I had a cheaper one the same size but with thinner tube.

I might consider dismantling another adapter I have.... will post photos later on today :) I think I need some flux though, things start corroding immediately on contact with the salty tropical humid air I bet hahah
