I've been using the MVP for a few days now. Im getting a consistent 16 hours of heavy vaping. Its built well and performs like its supposed to. I did find out you cant use Vision clearos on it without an adapter because the airflow is 0 if you use the clearo alone. I've been using the Vivi Nova tank on it and its performing well. Imho the puff counter is useless and the led screen scratches very easily. I have not tried to use it to charge my iPhone yet. I dont know that I will because thats not what I bought it for.

My brother recently bought one and liked it a lot, however the micro usb broke and he had to send it back for a replacement. I did some research and never came across anybody else having this issue so I think it must have just been a defective unit. BTW Jeffb, my brother thought he had the same issue with the led screen scratching, but it turned out there was a protective film over it that scratched easy, so he peeled it off and it looked good as new. We couldnt even tell it had one for a few days lol.

I am also trying to decide. I am ordering either a vmod xl or a mvp. I can not decide. I have to make up my mind today though as the sale is probably going to end.

All three of my MVPs have broken in the exact same manner. The female/inner portion of the USB just snaps loose. I'm already working with one vendor, and still need to notify the other (I bought 2 at one vendor, 1 at another).

This saddens me greatly because I love them - and I'm sure it'll happen again if I get new ones. If Innokin addresses and fixes the issue, I'll be back like a duck on a junebug!

Wow! Really? Thats Terrible. My brother has a replacement on the way, so he won't be very happy to hear this. Thanks for the heads up. Btw, did you exclusively use the charging cable that came with it? I am wondering if owners use a higher quality Micro usb cable, it might prevent this from happening. Probably not, but I guess its worth a try lol.

I know these are fairly inexpensive mods, but damn... this kind of thing shouldn't be happening. I am sure the vendors are going to hate Innokin if they end up having to keep replacing everyones MVP.

The one that lasted longer than the others I had used a different micro usb cords, specifically the ones for my Samsung phone and for my Kindle HD.

It seems that the charging adapter that comes with the MVP creates its own back pressure in 2 ways:

First, by having the flat portion behind the male usb charger portion keeping it from plugging in far enough without tension, where as a micro usb cable just hangs there.

Second, that same charger is pushed away from the unit while plugged into the MVP by the on/off switch which creates more back-pressure on the male adapter (doesn't matter if it's flipped to on or off, the whole switch is in a bad place).

Both issues cause pulling on the female adapter internally, because of the tension. Once that piece snaps off inside, you can't use *any* charger because it's just floating around in there not connected to anything.

I think that even with a secondary, stand alone micro usb charger, the weakness in the internal clips holding the female end of the charger in place will eventually cause them all to snap. I'm not a pro in this, but I have had every type of itaste and I was looking very forward to the MVP (anyone who knows me from chat knows how much I was anticipating this release), but as I said in the last post, I'm nervous about getting another one until this gets addressed by Innokin.

I think if someone really really wants one, I would find a stand alone micro usb cable, like you asked if I'd used, as the *only* charger for the MVP itself. The outbound charging portion of the device has no issues at all. The enclosed cable should ONLY be used to charge outbound through the regular sized USB port to charge phones, ipods, ipads..whatever you can use the adapters with.

If there are any other questions I can answer, feel free to ask :)

not liking what i just read in this thread !! i am in a co-op other there for two of these,,i got into mostly for the charging other devices option

while reading this i am thinking ?,,would it be wise to take the cap off and hot glue.super glue or something similar to prevent that from snapping off ??

think that will be the first thing i do when i get mine !!

i am already and waiting to change the atty connector so it can accept my kangers without an adapter,,

The bottom and top may have screws but you can't get the bottom off unless you want to pull out the LCD parts (I peeked to see if I could fix mine). It does lift up some, but on the side of the regular USB for output, not on the side where the micro usb female is. I even took the top screws out to see if that would help free the bottom - nope.

If you get one, just try using another micro usb charger with it. My 3rd one snapped when I decided to use the included charger because my phone and kindle were both already charging and they were my charging cords I used on the MVP that hadn't broken yet.

I hope Innokin steps up and addresses this, but since you do have 2 coming - just buy a mirco usb cable if you don't already have one - you'll be glad you did. It is a *really* cool feature to have the outbound charging adapters- I actually used it when my phone was dying in the middle of a call!
