Tiny 2 x 18650 mod

Just for fun I thought I would see how small I could make a mod with 2 18650's. It's 5000mAh in a 41 x 24 x 80mm case. Not sure how long the switch will last as it's a tad under-rated and I definately won't be trying any LRs on it.

I actually made 2 of these but they're nowhere near a commercial product. The switch is way under-rated and the whole thing is held together with super glue. It's completely sealed so to charge it the switch has to be operated which I do with a rubber band. Having said that I've been using one all day and it performs very well. The large battery capacity means less volt drop to the attie so it vapes well on std resistance atties.

 

These little mods work so well I decided to not wait until the switch dies so I added a p-channel mosfet transistor to switch the attie and give the switch an easy life. Luckily the super glue was easy enough to crack to reopen the cases.

Send that to the reo guy and get him to make a reo like that, how awesome.

 

Can a simple diode be used to bypass the switch when you want to charge?

 

The problem with using a diode is that even with a schottky type there will be ~0.3 volts drop across it so the cell won't charge fully.
