Anyone know the amp limit that will kill a Bolt. I want to know how low I can go on my coils before the thing dies.

fulltroy, I use 1.8 ohm regularly, and have gone as low as 1.5 ohm for weeks on end, and my Bolts are still vaping like the beast they are after a year for the youngest Bolt, and much longer than that for its older siblings.

I find no need to go lower than 1.5 ohm, as I prefer around 1.8 ohm personally. It's just some juices do well with 1.5 ohm on the Bolts.

So, based on the lowest I have gone, 1.5 ohm, which would be 2.47 amps, I will venture to guess, 2.5, if not 3 amp limit on the Bolt mod.

I never found anyone quoting the amp limit, so mathematics is all I have to go on, because I haven't killed any of my four Bolts.

I'm currently at .8 with nothing blowing up so I was just wondering if I could go lower.

The Bolt is a silver bullet copy and they claim It has a mechanical switch that does not regulate the 3.2 to 4.2 vt

The Bolt is a wired switch, so mechanical it is not, and regulated it is not.

I know it can handle 1.5 ohm because I use it. Anything below that, I love my Bolts too much to use them as a test device, not knowing for sure what amps it is rated at.

fulltroy, if you are brave enough to test your Bolt at lower than 1.5 ohm, let us know if it survives, or not.

I'm sorry I don't have a bolt, so someone jump in here if you have one. Isn't that the horn switch like you can get at MadVapes? If so that switch is rated at 5amps.

Yes, my Bolts definitely have that nice solid horn switch, like they also use on a lot of the the box mods around, but not sure if it's identical to the one like MadVapes sells at 5 amp.

Not sure why, but finding what the rating is is almost like a top secret. I have looked all around, Alibaba and vendor sites, and forums, and so far, I have not found the rating quoted anywhere I've looked. And when the topic has been brought up, there are various answers of what amps it is.

If this is rated above 3 amps, then it's more of a WOW love for me with the Bolts.

Well I don't really want to test until the point of destruction but it's cheap enough that it won't be a great loss. I'm currently running it at .8-.9 ohms but I wonder if it would do .5

You are running an atty below 1.0 ohms? Or did you just omit the "1" before those numbers?

    No I didn't omit a number I'm currently running .8 and I'm thinking of trying .5

When it comes to horn switches many various manufacturers make them. With unmarked, unbranded switches it's always a crap shoot as to the true ratings. When MV dropped the prices on them I assumed they switched to another manufacturer. For a while they were even claimed some DC rating.

    Are these the same?

10 Waterproof Momentary OFF (ON) N/O BOAT Button Switch BK33B n-in Power Accessories from Electrical Equipment & Supplies on Aliexpress.com

The ebay sellers rate them at "10A/125VAC. 7A/250VAC".

Many of the Bolt problems I've read about seem to revolve around the thread like wires they use. There are quite a few posts/tutorials on ECF about fixing them.
