I have a few questions for all you vaping veterans who have tried/own just about everything ecig related.

What is the most reliable commercial mod overall?

What is the most reliable big battery tube mod?

    Most reliable box mod?

    Thanks

I have never seen a 100% reliable commercial mod so far so I cannot comment on any.

I have to say the my Precious-L (big battery 18650 mod) has never failed me, not even once. AW 2600mah batteries last for days and the touch sensor has never failed to fire.
I have so much confidence in it that I never carry any backup when I leave the house. I am a painter and have dropped it numerous times from heights over 8 feet, on concrete, ceramic tile and wood flooring with zero damage to it, not even a scratch. I have used it with oil based primer on my hands yet it easily wipes off and is virtually stain resistant. I have never even once polished it and it still looks as great as the day I first got it.

Auto feed system coming out soon for the Precious series, after that the weakest link will be just the atomizer. Right now all I need is a carto and liquid and I can go 3 days with no battery changes and could probably go longer but I have not tried that yet.

    Aloha, Keith

Well I've only been vaporizing :) for a little over a year... So cant say I am a veteran
First thing I realized during the last year.. is that there is no absolutely perfect mod... Some do get pretty close tho :)

OK, everything below is IMHO!!!!!!!! So no one be bashing me :)

The most reliable tube mod... Taking in to account a lot factors the Silver Bullet IMHO is one of the most reliable mods out there.
Mine (which I got beat up/second hand) have never had a mechanical or any kind or reliability problems. And I only heard of a few from others(pretty rare tho)
It is also hard to say NO to the new price of SB.. I think its down to $85. (Drop in price also made me get a second BB :) )
I did and I always will have some dislikes about it tho, but none of them involve reliability.
My dislikes were mainly caused by me being a neat freak...... 1) To keep a silver SB looking pretty is a PIA :), but not imposible 2) The size of SB..... It is huge, at least for me :)
So the bottom line is SB is great mod, Especially for $85 no other mod can even get close to SB.

As far as box mods, the most favorite and reliable box mod I have owned was the one I made myself with help of good old MADVAPES.
It did take me some time and a little soldering but for $10 dollars wort of parts I made my own box!! Just that made it special :)
Also if anything ever breaks you'll have no problem fixing it since you build it

Ugh... box mods.... I had quiet a few. And one thing I realized that box shape is not really for me :)
From box mods I only owned 2 that I didnot make myself. Those were the juice box & Mr.Puffer.

So I guess I can say that IMHO the most reliable and priced perfect big batt mod is SB
And the best box mode is the one I made myself :)

But as of today my main vappe-joy-toy is Precious from Romania. I ve only had it for a few weeks, but so far it rocking my vapeland :)

Ok this is getting too long!
If you are looking for a new mod to buy, just post up on the forum and there is a lot of us here that can help you out
Always feel free to ask lots of questions before getting one, and don't always rely on video reviews!!!

I have a Chuck and I really like it. My brother in law wants to kick the analogs now too and after using my stuff I've got him ready to try vaping. I just want to steer him in the right direction. I started with a tornado but all of those regular ecigs are pretty much garbage in my mind. If you're a heavy smoker, you'll be a heavy vaper and to have all of the tornado parts I needed it would have cost me like an additional 200 bucks plus the kit. Then its like 27 bucks to replace a battery. I think a big battery mod is the way to go for him and I want him to get the best device for the money.

I have to agree. My BSB (black silver bullet) has been a rock star. Works every time. i have also never had it fire in my pocket either. The other advntage is that if you are feeling frisky and have some spare cash, you can get the double barrel top and/or the passthrough. All the parts are interchangable. You can also find these for sale 2nd hand some times for even less than the already increadibly reasonalbe $85 price tag.

The reo (REOS Custom Mods) is the most reliable box mod I have ever had. All the plastic box mods I have owned, have broken. Plus the Reo is a juice feeder mod. It is expensive, but well worth it if you can afford it.

Glad we brought up this old posting. Both my legacy and mini legacy are great inexpensive reliable devices.

I wish I owned and used repeatedly every mod out there, in order to arrive at a fair conclusion, however that would be impossible. But, in general, one can never go wrong with a solidly built mechanical mod such as the P+, Caravela, Roller, (Roller updates swinging out soon and with plated parts that won't need cleaning as often as most mechanical mods need), ..... solid SS, or Airplane grade Aluminum are always a good choice of solid materials, can't go wrong. Plus some, like the P+ and the Roller come with lifetime warranties on the mods, and 2year warranty on all other parts of the mod that require plastic parts like delrin washers or whatevers.

The semi-mechanical like the SB are great workhorses too! But the wire will one day need replacing. No big deal if one has that in mind.

Electronic mods... wow, I guess the Provari with it's SS and over protection and warranty. Very popular solid mod for a reason.

I guess, what I'm saying is, the best are still to come! :)

edited: yikes! edited to remove what I'm looking forward to, or they'll fly off the shelves before I get my hands on one! plus they're not "proven" yet. whew.

Everyone knows that the most durable mechanical mod out there is the GGTS though noone likes to say so because they're anti-Imeo for one reason or another.......if the threads are cleaned and the battery spring is good you cannot beat them....:)

GGTS is a great mod, I agree. It's up there with with the best as far as durability...but I would venture to say that it is a matter of versatility and beautiful inginuity that creates the main selling points of the GG :) I have nothing against Imeo, he's a great guy and the GGTS is amazing, but the GGTS is a lot like a Cadillac...the more features you have, the more areas you have for potential failure. Everything on the GGTS is replaceable, but there is a whole lot of maintainance involved with them (maintainance that I personally love... but have to admit isn't for everyone). As far as durabilty, I'd still pick a Precise over a GG :)

The most reliable mod I have been using for the past year and a half is my Provari. I would also say that the mechanical mods that I still own are still chiming away. The Prodigy V3.1 and my Omega. I do not really use them much anymore though. I used to have a GGTS but I sold it since I no longer use battery drain in any of my mixtures so if it is mechanical now, it will get kicked. Too many connections in the GGTS to be reliable for being kicked in my opinion. Not to say I kick the Prodigy but it can not be kicked. It was also my first main stream mod when I started back up in 2010 so it will stay with me.
As far as the OP goes. Most reliable box mod would be an old 801 recessed atty box I made a couple years ago.
