I decided to experiment the other day: 5% TFA Anise, then 2% fruit. I'm trying different fruits with this.

At first the Anise is really strong, kind of like eating 10 black jelly beans at once.

After a couple of days though, the Anise blends into the vape, and the whole experience is really good.

I might try experimenting with Chocolate and other deserts based flavour concentrates.

Another similar flavour is horehound. A tad more subtle but I am having a lot of success with adding an accent of it to a lot of other flavours. It tends to knock back the sweetness without too much sour.

Hey PV, just wondering is the flavour based on the alcoholic drink, Anise (aka Anis), or is it a straight up black jellybean candy type flavour? My first goal in my DIY adventure is to create my namesake, the Sol y Sombra, which is a spanish drink, a simple blend of Anis and Brandy. I'm currently looking for a good brandy flavour aswell if you have any ideas?

It tastes more like black jelly bean, liqiorice flavour. I might try the Anise and Brandy vape though, sounds interesting.

Haha let me know how the experiment goes, it's a b.comtiful drink, should make a very nice vape.
If you're interested in the drink, go get some "Fundador" Brandy and "Anis Del Mono". Mix is around 50/50, although it varies to taste, more Anis for sweetness, more brankdy for sharpness.

Only 2-2.5% max in menthols but only 1% in fruit types.

I started at 3% in the menthols but its a little bit sour after a couple of weeks. Its a fine line.

I was trying to explain the flavour to someone and it's almost a mouth feel rather than a taste. Don't get me wrong there is a taste but it gives you that mouth tingle that acid flavours like bitter lemon or tonic.

I agree with Crisscross as regards the horehound, in small doses it gives a recipe a little something extra :)
    **Thanks again Criss**

Purple, if you like Anise then try some Absinthe, the FW is so much better than the TPA. Also try the TPA Double Kiwi (it's great with a nice fresh clean taste) but I found the straight Kiwi (all brands) very "dead" and heavy in taste.

Kwiktech, yep I love the "fairies" too. Try the Magic Fairy as well ..... it rocks.

Sol ..... don't get sucked into overdoing the brandy. I haven't tried Brandy yet but if it's like the other liquor concentrates then it gets stronger the longer it steeps.
    Cheers

Cheers Sodd, I'll probably try a few at the same time, likewise with the aniseed ones, first on their own, then different mixes. It's basically my life's mission to make a proper one now!

The aniseed/ licorice flavours seem to tone down quite a lot as they age.
